You need to undo the ball in the bottom and clean out the fluff. Look on the bottom of your mouse

I have been having an issue where my mouse becomes very slow and jumpy when playing black ops. At all other times it is fine. Any ideas what could be causing this.

Do you experience lag while playing the game? If the game lags, mouse movement will probably lag as well. Do you have another mouse/trackpad/input device you can try? If your other input devices work, it could be a problem with your mouse.

Check to see that you have the latest drivers for your mouse. It could be that obsolete drivers are causing the problem.

SLOW MOUSE TRACKING PROBLEM & VIDEO/AUDIO SYNC PROBLEM with 27" iMac Quad computer. Using 42" Insignia as a second monitor using HDMI DVI cable. The video card unable to serve both monitors' draw...

I am using my tv as a second monitor as well, and i believe the lag problems with the monitor are due to the video/graphics card. I am not expert, but my pc is an alienware aurora with quad processors and 6gigs of ram. The only thing not top of the line is my video card, plus it gets slightly pixelated due to resolution not being sufficient from my video card. Otherwise flight sim X runs smoothly, except for the mouse lag issue. Best of luck, if your program is lagging also though, might be your driver

did you ever open you mouse and clean it? It's simply to do and u don't need any tool for that.Just "turn" thie piece on the back ot the mouse in the right way,see how pieces are adjusted, clean and put in order!!!!The ball on the back can't move easily because of the dirtiness. It's just only after cleaning several times u can if it still doesn't work that definitely u should replace it. i hope u're using a mouse mat.If it's too old change it too.

Lag Booting

This is a shot in the dark, bare with me. Disconnect everything from the back of pc except the video, mouse & keyboard. Enter your bios. Still have lag? Reset the bios by clearing the cmos jumper pg. 9 in your manual & remove the battery & check it for 3v if you can. If the lag went away by disconnecting the other devices than re-connect one device at a time with a reboot inbetween. When the lag returns you will know which device is not right. Everything applies when doing this kind of search. If you have two dimms remove one. Check for lag. Than swap memory/check. When you boot to the bios it involves the cpu, motherboard, video, memory & power supply. Your hard drive is also an issue but only at booting to OS. Did the pc encounter a unexpected shut down? Did you replace a device like a mouse or a keyboard? Here it the link for your board. ESC shows very little in regards to FAQ's. I hope something above helps you find a answer! http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=674&DetailName=Bios&MenuID=1&LanID=9

Shutter Lag

Thats going to be a problem with most digital cameras in that price range (and even some $$ ones) really the only thing I can recommend is PF.F.S. That would be Pre-Focus -- Frame -- Shot. Many people try to frame a photo up then focus/shot all in one, but this does not always work. So if your looking to speed things up a little, just half press the button to get a prefocus and then do your magic. Really everything I talked about above was Focus-lag, not actually shutter lag. But since this is often confussed I thought I would add it in.
