The bulb is flickering. I have replaced it but the new one also flickers

The light is as bright as ever but the flickering means that it is very uncomtortable to work with the lamp. I assumed the bulb was on its way out so replaced it, but the new bulb flickers just as much. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Brake Lights Dull or Flickering - All Cars

Dull or Dim Brake Light Repair: If your car has a dull or dim brake light it is dangerous to you and other drivers. A dim brake light is a mystery to most people because the bulb is working, just not correctly. First confirm a new and correct brake light bulb has been installed. Next, turn the ignition key to the "on" position and have a helper depress the brake pedal. With the bulb installed touch a grounded test light to the outer bulb holder ring. If the bulb brightness changes the bulb socket ground has high resistance and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Flickering Brake Light Bulb Repair: A flickering brake light bulb can be very distracting and annoying. A brake light flickers because the power or ground is being obstructed momentarily. The most common cause for this condition is a loose fitting bulb socket. To check for this condition remove the brake light bulb in question, while a helper hold their foot on the brake pedal move the bulb around slightly in the socket. If the bulb flickers replace or repair the bulb socket as needed to regain proper brake light bulb operation. If the brake light bulb socket tests ok wiggle the brake light fuse and wiring at the brake light bulb socket, brake light switch and turn signal switch (American cars). If the brake light bulb flickers repair the component or wiring as needed.
Preferred Procedure: Always replace brake light bulbs with manufacturers recommend replacement bulbs. If you cannot find the correct replacement bulb part number consult an auto parts store for additional manufacturer information.
Common Problems
When brake light bulbs are replaced with the incorrect bulb causing no or dim brake light operation
If the brake lights stay on continuously it could mean the brake light switch has failed or an adjustment is needed.

Decora Lighted Switch started to flicker when I installed LED bulbs in the recessed cans.

Not 100% sure but I suspect the LED replacements exhibit a significantly higher impedance when off, unlike incandescent and halogen.

If you have multiple cans controlled by one switch, try changing all but one to LED and likely there will be no flicker at the lighted switch.

If you leave at least one halogen on the circuit and it still flickers, be sure to comment here and I'll research further.

2006 corolla se dashboard lights flickering

If all the lights are flickering. I would suggest that you only go as far as locating the fuse. Clean it and put back. Alternatively replace with new fuse. It's unusual for all lights to flicker. 1 might flicker, indicating a faulty bulb. On Toyotas, the dash lights are usually on the same fuse as the park lamps.

A number of possible reasons--from brightness/contrast set too high to a issue with the power supply of the set--a expert would have to examine the set--you might want to call Sony to see if known issue with this model.

My hazard lights and flicker lights are on, but not flickering. what can i do

I assume you mean your signal lights when you say flicker lights? Your problem could either be a bad flasher unit or bad bulbs. I'd put my money on the flasher unit since none of the bulbs are flashing.

Have 3- 13 watt mini spiral bulbs on fixture. When switch in auto mode, lights hum, flicker and not maximum brightness. When switched to on position, lights stop flickering and humming. Full brightness as...

-Replace the compact florescent bulbs with regular incandescent bulbs and see if problem continues.
-Lighting controls are made for different kinds of bulbs.
-Your package should say what the watt rating and type of bulb.

According to the PR180 manual:
-I am looking at the Leviton PR180 occupancy sensor manual, and the PR180 sell-sheet, and these documents say for incandescent and fluorescent (rapid-start magnetic ballast only).
-Compact fluorescent are supposed to have a magnetic ballast.
-The manual does not specifically say it works with 'compact fluorescent'
-The manual does not say there is a minimum amount of wattage either. Some controls will not work correctly if the overall wattage is low. Your overall wattage is 39watts.

Read the product package (if this is a new installation and you have the package)
Try the incandescent bulbs.
If the PR180 is not your product, add a comment with product number and I'll look for information

New Leviton 'lighted, decorative' switch flickers when off

You cannot use standard electronic dimmer switches with CFL bulbs, only incandesant bulbs! That is why you are getting the flickering.

With CFL's bulbs installed in a light fixture that has a non-flouresant rated dimmer switch on that circuit, you will cause the standard dimmer to fail.

You have to look at the dimmer package (sometimes printed on the back of the dimmer itself too) to see if it can be used with CFL bulbs,as many are not rated for use with anything other than standard incandesant bulbs.

Hope you found this very helpful and best regards!
