I have change the engine in a toyota hilux surf, the engine is a 1 kz 3.0 l engine, the new engine wont idle, (start and shut down)

John, find which is Spark Plug Number 1.
Then remove all spark plugs
Place long straws down the Spark Plug Housing
Turn Crankshaft
Watch the straw go up and down while turning
Mark the straw at its peak (coming to the top)
Now you are at ATG's peak (diy/mechanics will say "TDC")

ATG

• locate fuse box
• locate broken fuse
• pull out broken fuse
• push in new fuse

check for fuel leak at the pump. pull and fit new tips to the injectors. Have the injection timing checked by an accredited diesel shop ( same one that is replacing the injector tips)

It needs tune up

runs perfect all the time hot engine, even up hills?
ever do a tuneup
do the 60,000 mile service points? or the 90?
bad running engines, do not want to start.
did you try the 2 tricks in the operators guide
1: crank with 10% throttle (helps finding stuck closed ISC valve)
2: crank it W.O.T? clears the flooding.

got idle problems , hot engine? too low, too high>? key symptoms.
got misfire up hills,
is the CEL glowing running > Check engine lamp
ever scan it? see if DTCs are stored??????????????????????????

I have a Toyota Hilux 3.0 KZ-TE fitted with a intercooler and on Saterday on a 4x4 outing the engine light on the dashboard came on and the motor started spluttering and excessive white smoke came out of the exhaust. The problem persisted for several minutes and then went away. The verdict from other 4x4 owners was that the turbo needs an overall, I cannot understand this as it is fine again with no mechanical interferance.

I have the same problem. it just wont start one morning. can you please help me in case you have solved your problem already.
