At you home circui breaker...then the wall plug... then the timer switch ...then the motor and the door swich.

Why won't my washer start when I push the start button


My washer use to not work and I took off the rubber cover that covered the button and was then able to just push the stem inside to start the machine. It worked fine afterwards.

Washer was working fine....now it won't start....I unplugged it ....plugged it back in and it started...then I had to change settings...and it would not start again...I turned the breaker off and then back...


Get an extension cord and try another outlet and if it still doesnt work it may be a faulty plug on the washer cord and further testing will require a multi- meter.

GE Spacemaker Washer/Dryer wont start only washer or only dryer


Did you figure out a solution to this problem? I just bought a brand new Frigidaire and it is doing the exact same thing, except it never worked properly. I thought it was the unit and had HH Greg bring another out but the 2nd one did the same as the first.

Try some WD40 on the machine door mechanism, not on the door; & open/close the door while the machine switch is off, for the mech to become free.
