Error 1203 is cartridge error, if it does not reset replacing cartridges and cleaning the cartridges contact inside the ink carriage, then you have a contact on the ink carriage connectors.

Usually you fix e 1203 by power cycling the printer, replacing cartridges or cleaning cartridge contacts.

The 1203 error message is caused by either a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In-One (AIO), or by a short in one of the printheads.
Resolution

  • If the problem is occurring during the normal printer lifetime, the procedures below will help you to resolve it.
Troubleshooting a Communication Error between the Cartridge and the Printer

Power off the All-In-One (AIO) and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Wait 30 seconds, then reinsert the power supply and power the AIO on.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.

Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad... I would request you to try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..

Generally, an error 1203 is result of the cartridge not making connection properly

Hi!

Its a known issue and is related to leaking ink cartridges or the printer cartridge Slot is bad

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy

If this doesn't work you need to get your cartridges replaced.

Thanks
Rylee

As you are using refilled cartridges, so the warranty will get void if its under warranty.

Use orignal (new) cartridges to remove this error.

Error 1203 means your cartridges overflow even from brand new cartridges after a
several prints or right after you refilled the cartridges. Check to see
if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the
    cartridges.

Try this use the klennex with a few drops of water to dampen and clean off those contact on the holder .
    The
refill ink work very well if you let it sit 24 hrs. Then before you
print anything, you should run aligned the cartridges a couple times
then run clean cartridges a couple times.
Print the test page to see how it's look and way you go.
Be sure not to leave any debris of klennex on those holder contact panel.

SOURCE: Dell 926 Printer, Error 1203,

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

The error 1203 error message on the operator panel could indicate a problem with one of the ink cartridges. Please follow the steps given below:

1. Please make sure the All-In-One is powered on.
2. Pull the control panel towards you, and then open the cartridge access door. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position.
3. Pull the old cartridges towards you, and then lift them out.
4. With the cartridges out of the printer, shut the access door and the control panel.
5. Power the printer OFF and then back ON.
6. Please check the operator panel to see if the same error has returned or if a new message has appeared.
7. If the message displayed is 1203, there is something wrong with the printer hardware.
If the message now displaying is Cartridge Missing, do the following:

1. Reinstall the cartridges into the printer.
2. Insert the color cartridge in the left carrier. Insert the black cartridge in the right carrier.
3. Push back firmly on the cartridges until they snap securely into place.
4. Close the cartridge access door, and then close the control panel.
5. If the 1203 message is still present on the operator panel, you need to insert one cartridge at a time to determine which cartridge is producing the failure.
6. With one cartridge in the carrier, close the access door and control panel.
7. Please check the operator panel. If the 1203 error is displayed, this cartridge is the defective item. If the Cartridge Missing message is displayed, the second cartridge is producing the failure.
8. Please replace the defective cartridge.
