TC1000 projector problems

I use a TC1000 for teaching, connected to an HP VP6120 projector. The set-up
works fine for most things, but I am unable to project video streams (mpeg,
etc).

HP has advised me that, to display video streaming, the projector needs to
have full signal in order for the image to appear (in other words, I cannot
have the tablet screen displaying the image at the same time as the
projector).

This, in itself, would not be a problem except for the fact that there
appears to be no way, with the TC1000, of switching off the tablet monitor
display. I seem only to be able to switch between internal and
internal+external. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Al

I use my tc1000 with a projector at work all the time.
Your qmenu should have options for internal only,
external only and internal & external. If it's not
currently showing it, open your qmenu and click "Qmenu
settings." Put a check box in the "external only" click
the add button on the right, the ok button on the bottom,
and you should be good to go for external only.

Another item I've found useful when projecting
is "extended display." You can make your desktop twice
the size and have one application in your internal window
and another application in the external. I haven't tried
this with video projection, however, so I'm not sure how
it would work.

Cheers, Scott - I'll try that on Monday when I hit school again and let you
know how it goes. What other effects will turning off the video hardware
accelerator have?

Thanks,

Al

What happens when you try to project the video screen? Does it show the
player fine, but you just have a blank space where the video should be? If
this is the case, try turning off video hardware acceleration by doing the
following:

Control Panel -
There should be a slider that allows you to set the amount of hardware
acceleration. Turn it all the way down to "None". I had to do that with my
Toshiba 3500 to project video streams. In fact, I've had to do that with
all the laptops I've presented with. I usually just turn it off when I need
to project video and turn it back up when I'm done.
