Below the LED display of the BASE phone, press MENU. Scroll down to DISPLAY BASE-ID and press OK. Enter that 15 digit number into the handset.

Phone is asking to 'Enter Base ID'. Where is base

You don't have to key in the ID, just put the phone back into the charging cradle of the base unit. It will then re-sync itself to your base unit's ID.

Can put in base id

Did you try this (from the i5801 manual) -

To register a handset to the base, follow these steps:

Step 1: If ENTER BASE ID is displayed on the handset, proceed to the next step; if not, press MENU on the handset, then press ▼ until REGISTER is highlighted; now press OK.

Step 2: Locate the 15-digit Base ID number by pressing, at the base: MENU, then press until DISPLAY BASE-ID is highlighted, then press OK.

Step 3: Carefully enter this number using the handset dialpad. If you make a mistake, press to backspace. When finished, press OK.

In a few moments, the handset will be assigned a number (1-6). This will be the lowest available number in the sequence not previously assigned to another system handset.

Step 4: Repeat the procedure for any other unregistered system handsets.

Reply back if you have success. The Base ID is not from the bottom of the base unit, but is something you get by following Step 2 above.

First, deregister all handsets:

Step 1: At the base, press MENU, scroll to BASE SETTINGS, then press OK.

Step 2: Using the base dialpad, enter * * 3 3 5 7 8 2

Step 3: Re-register each system handset:

At the base, press MENU, scroll to DISPLAY BASE-ID, then press OK. The 15-digit base ID number will be displayed.

Step 4: Using the handset dialpad, enter the base ID number. Repeat the registration procedure for each system handset. Each handset is assigned a number in the order of registration

GE MODEL 28112 DECT 6.0 CORDLESS PHONE

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.

#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.

reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

Only one handset can be registered at a time. The handset ID for the supplied handset(s) was assigned at the factory, which has #1 or #2 in the display (#2 for models that have two handsets in packaging). When you register additional handset to the base, the handset ID will be assigned. 1) Before registering the extra handset, the battery pack must be charged for 15-20 hours. 2) Place the extra handset in the main base unit to begin registration. 3) While the handset is registering, Handset Registering will appear in the LCD. When Registration Complete is displayed, the handset has been registered to the base. If Registration Failed appears, please try these steps again. Extra Handset Extra Handset Charger Charger Main Base Extra Handset + Main Base Charge the handset for 15-20 hours. Place the extra handset in the main base to register. 1 2 3 4 ?An extra handset can be registered when the main base is in standby mode. ?Standby Mode - The handset is not in use and talk/flash has not been pressed.
