Moen one handle kitchen faucet very low water stream

If you take the faucet head off the pressure is to the faucet is good. We cleaned the screen. My boyfriend took the faucet head apart and is not sure he but it back together correctly. This faucet has a cartridge. We are thinking of replacing the cartridge.

If the pressure is good with the head off then you can probably get a new head for it u shouldn't have to change the cartrige. it sounds like the head is clogged so plastic pieces in the head to help save water "water savers" it is hard to clean them i would try changing the head u should be able to find on for a moen, u buy for looks u buy it for life. take the old head with u when u go to buy a new one so they can match it up to the right one.if you can't find it and a lowes or home deptm try a plumbing supply house

I have a brand new moen muirfield high arc faucet with low pressure at spout but good pressure at side spray what can i do to get better pressure at spout

clevine336-

The design of a hand sprayer is meant to provide a higher pressure spray (the smaller outlet size means greater velocity in the water coming out of the sprayer head). That said, there could be something constricting the water flow in your faucet. If you unscrew the aerator on the end of the faucet do you get better pressure? Is the screen in the aerator clogged with sediment or mineral deposits? If this is the case you may have water requiring periodic cleaning of the aerator.

Hope this helps.

If the faucet is plugged AND the sprayer also seems to be plugged, the problem is probably in the diverter valve that controls the water going to the faucet and sprayer, see URL link below. Need to find a way to clear the valve, most likely by removing the faucet neck and cleaning and the reassembling. Prior to doing that I would remove the hose connection and try blowing back through the faucet to see if you can get something out of it.

Please contact me if this does not work. More things you can do, but they are pretty drastic.

My moen vestage faucet is dropping water pressure. It worked fine when it was installed but the water volume out of the faucet has dropped to less than half of what it was.

Have you removed aerator ,screen etc., from end of tap, to see how flow is with it off. If good, or same as other taps when taken off of them, then you've got debris in aerator, and screen.

wow... I wish you hadn't gone thru the expense of replacing the faucet... it's perfectly good... your problem was the aerator, it unscrews at the tip of the water spout and had collected too much sediment which eventually blocked water flow. Often happens quickly after your water is shut off at the main valve. Aerators cost about 50 cents...
