SOURCE: Sony Bravia KDL-40W4500 turns off

This can indicate a problem with the high voltage circuits. Since this is a new set, it should still be under warranty. DO NOT open up the unit as that will void the warranty. Return the set or request warranty service. Note the 8 blinks when you request service as that should allow them to bring the correct replacement parts.

Keep us posted.

SOURCE: tv bravia kdl 40v3000 problem turning on

Hello,

Unfortunately, this is a failure of the balancer board for the backlight. The unfortunate part is that the balancer is not available by itself anymore, and the whole panel must be replaced, as Sony only has the balancers attached to new panels. You can contact Sony directly to ask for assistance, and it usually helps.

Hope this helps you...

SOURCE: My Sony Bravia, model KDL-46XBR4's

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. TV turns on but within 60 seconds the screen goes black and the red standby light blinks six times. Were you able to resolve this problem on your TV?

SONY KDL-40XBR6 12 BLINKS (I HAVE NO IMAGE, BUT SOUND)

I would be more inclined to check the power supply board first. Check the outputs to make sure the voltage is correct getting to the inverter. You should be able to pull up specs online if the expected voltages are not already printed on the board itself.

Sony TV model KDL-46Z4100, standby light flashes 14 times, no picture, no sound

14 blinks to Sony Brand LCDs indicates a 'Backend error'. It means that, the main board to this TV should be checked for fault. In most cases the main board might need replacement, and a software update too. If you wish to know more details about this blinking code, check this link. It has details of blinking codes to several brands of TVs including Sony. Actually the work is a skilled one, need experience.

14 blinking red lights (standby) sony lcd

14 times means the LCD panel is defective. I just had one of those tvs in my shop. Sony will take care of the panel replacement in warranty.
