SP3 is the third and final service pack released for Microsoft Windows XP, and it eliminates many of the security holes that previously affected XP. While Microsoft recommends that users download SP3 using Windows Update, some users are unable to do so. However, it's easy to create a Windows XP SP3 installation CD; it requires only that you download the pack from the website and burn it to a CD-R/DVD-R using an ISO burner program.
Download the SP3 installation ISO by visiting the first link listed in the "Resources" section of this article. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." The printer is displaying error: B0605 on the screen

Issue Description: Print cannot boot up into ready state with an error message shown on printer control panel. The error messages include ERROR: B0601/ B0602/ B0603/ B0604/ B0605. Root Cause: Firmware crashes. Note: Inappropriate behavior may cause firmware crash. For example, a printer is turned off when critical firmware update is undergoing. Solution: Firmware Update Utility.
There are two use cases when encountering the issue: Instructions for Use case 1: driver is previously installed on PC
  1. Place printer in bootcode mode.
    1. Hold down the Cancel and OK buttons.
    2. Power on printer.
    3. Continue to hold down buttons until control panel dislpays Hewlett- Packard on the first line and Bootcode on the second line.

  2. In the Printer and Faxes window, right click on the HP LaserJet P2050 Series PCL6 icon and select Properties .
  3. Click the Ports tab and view the USB ports as shown below.

  6. The Found New Hardware Wizard will pop up, and tje printer USB enumeration will happen.
  7. Open printer properties and select Ports tab again.

    NOTE: Not the driver is installed and it is pointed to correct USB port.
  10. Run HP LJ P2055 Firmware Update Utility.

In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.

  2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

Windows cannot execute sndvol32.exe


Method 1: Add the Volume icon loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); To add the Volume icon to the notification area of your computer, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Copy and paste or type the following command in the Open box, and then click OK: mmsys.cpl
  3. Click to select the Place volume icon in the taskbar check box.
  4. Click OK.
If the Volume icon is displayed in the notification area of your computer, you are finished. If you cannot add the Volume icon or if you receive an error message when you try to add it, the Sndvol32.exe file might be damaged or missing. Go to method 2.


Method 2: Save a new copy of the Sndvol32.exe file on your hard disk loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); If the Sndvol32.exe file is damaged or missing, you must extract a new copy of the Sndvol32.exe file from the Windows XP CD and save it on your computer's hard disk. Prerequisites loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); This method requires you to have your Windows XP installation CD.

Note If you do not have access to the Windows XP CD that contains the installation files, ask the network administrator for help if the computer is at your workplace, or contact Support. My frontech e cams driver is not being instlled. i have the cd and everything. Its brand new. plx help


First connect the camera to your computer using the Usb cable and then insert the cd onto your Cd-drive and install the software when it's "atoplay". If it's not autoplay itself, open cd directory/folder and click the Setup file and follow the onscreen instructions.
In case this doesn't fix the installation, you need to run another installation method.

Connect the camera to your computer's usb port, you'll see a pop dialog box with "Found new Hardware" wizard, Click "install from a list or specific location (advanced)" by selecting the radio button, "Next", then click "include this location in the search" and the "browse", locate the cd directory and browse the driver in the cd's folder (don't just click the Cd drive, it might not detect automatically). After you find the drivers, click "Ok" and then, "Next", it'll take few minutes to complete the installation, (if you are prompted with a warning, just click "continue anyway"), when it's done, click finish. You might require to restart your system after the installation is finished.

When you install Microsoft Windows XP, you may receive the following error message:

The file 'Asms' on Windows XP Professional CD-ROM is needed. Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK.
This issue may occur if the Setup program cannot communicate with the CD-ROM drive.
To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method for your computer.
Hard disk formatted with FAT or FAT32 file system
If the hard disk is formatted with the FAT file system or with the FAT32 file system, follow these steps:
Use a Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Startup disk with CD-ROM drivers to restart the computer.
Copy the Xcopy.exe tool from the Windows 98 Second Edition CD-ROM, the Windows Millennium Edition (Me) CD-ROM, or the hard disk to the Windows Startup disk. To do this, use the appropriate method.
Windows 98 Second Edition CD-ROM
Insert the Windows 98 Second Edition CD-ROM in the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then at the command prompt type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line, where cd-rom is the drive letter of the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive:

Eject the Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition (Me) CD-ROM, and then insert the Windows XP Professional CD-ROM.
Copy the I386 folder and all its subfolders to the hard disk. To do this, type the following lines at the command prompt where cd-rom is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive, and drive is the drive letter of the hard disk, and then press ENTER after you type each line:

xcopy cd-rom:\i386 drive:\i386 /e
Restart the computer, and then start the Setup program again.
When you receive the error message, click Browse, and then type the path of the I386 folder on the hard disk.
Note You may be prompted several times for the location of this folder. If Browse is not available, see the "Hard disk formatted with NTFS file system" section.

If the hard disk is formatted with the NTFS file system and you are upgrading an earlier version of Windows, use one of the following methods.
Method 1

Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. When you receive the error message, press SHIFT+F10 to start a command session.
Type regedit.exe, and then press ENTER.

When you are prompted to specify a name, type Test.
Locate and then click the following key:

Delete the UPPERFILTERS and LOWERFILTERS registry keys.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the other ControlSet# keys under the Test hive.
Click File, and then click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
If the path in the error message is the correct drive letter for the CD-ROM drive, click OK to continue the Setup program.
If you receive the error message again, the Setup program cannot correctly read from the CD-ROM drive, or the path information is incorrect. In this case, restart your computer and let the Setup program resume.
Method 2
If you cannot start Regedit.exe at the command prompt, and there is another available partition where you can install Windows on the hard disk, follow these steps:
Install Windows in the other partition.
Start the new installation of Windows, and then start Regedit.exe.
Follow the steps in method 1, but load the System.sav hive from the original Windows folder.
Method 3
If you are not using a retail Windows XP CD-ROM with a hologram (for example, if you are using a burned CD-ROM), try to run the Setup program from a retail CD-ROM with a hologram. To verify this, start the computer by using Recovery Console, and then check the C:\$win_nt$.~ls folder. Look for the Asms folder. If the folder is missing or the files that it contains are zero bytes, the CD-ROM was not burned correctly.

I need to burn dvd with phptos and vidio on the one disk

  • Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Then select "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Windows Explorer."
  • Open the DVD burner tray and insert a blank DVD or CD. Close the tray.
  • Navigate to the hard drive that has the files to be burned. Click on the files or folder to be burned, and drag to the DVD burner drive icon in Windows Explorer.
  • Select "File," then "Write these files to CD." Ensure that all the files that need to be written to the CD or DVD are on the list in the temporary files area that can be found in Windows. The CD writing wizard will open; follow the instructions in the wizard.
  • Remove the CD or DVD when finished and apply label. Close drive tray.

To run the Microsoft Windows Installer if Norton AntiVirus was installed from the CD
  1. Insert the Norton AntiVirus CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the installation program appears, then click Browse the CD
    • If the installation program does not appear, then double-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop, and then double-click the CD-ROM drive icon.
  3. Double-click the MSI folder.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • In Windows 98/Me, double-click the WIN9x folder.
    • In Windows 2000/XP, double-click the WINNT folder.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • In Windows 98/Me, double-click the Instmsi.exe file.
    • In Windows 2000/XP, double-click Instmsiw.exe if you have Windows 2000/XP.
  6. In the next dialog box, click Yes.
  7. After the rollback has finished, then reinstall Norton AntiVirus.
    Follow the instruction in Reinstalling your Symantec program after a failed installation or after you see error messages to start the computer without any programs running on startup and then reinstall your Norton program.

If these steps do not fix the problem, then go on to the next section.

To run the Microsoft Windows Installer if Norton AntiVirus was installed from a downloaded version
  1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Find (or Search) > Files or Folders.
  2. Ensure that "Look in" is set to the drive where you downloaded Norton AntiVirus, and that "Include subfolders" is checked.
  3. In the "Named" or "Search for..." box, do one of the following:
    • In Windows 98/Me, type the following:

      instmsi.exe
    • In Windows 2000/XP, type the following:

      instmsiw.exe
  4. Click Find Now or Search Now.
    You might see many files with this name. Look for the file with this name that is located in either the Symantec_Norton_AntiVirus_2003 or the your Windows temporary file location depending on your version of Norton AntiVirus.
  5. In the Search Results window, do one of the following, depending on your version of Windows:
    • In Windows 98/Me, double-click Instmsi.exe.
    • In Windows 2000/XP, double-click Instmsiw.exe.
  6. In the next dialog box, click Yes.
    This will undo the changes that were made to your system during the first failed installation.
  7. After the process finishes, then reinstall Norton AntiVirus.
    Follow the instruction in Reinstalling your Symantec program after a failed installation or after you see error messages to start the computer without any programs running on startup and then reinstall your Norton program.
