Unplug the tv for a while and plug back in.if it doesnot help then check out for bulged or blownout capacitors on the board.if you find any of them faulty just replace it and check.it should most probably solve this problem.

That means that the tV is on protection mode, start unplugging the set for some time first.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem on dvd with no receiver box connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

    1The
internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic
chargesaccumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read
by themain chip on your monitor controller board. this started the
    protectioncircuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong
voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in
    , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

    Commonfaults
that can occurr suddenly are a blown capacitor on power board, a
convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
    check also
the video cable, if the cableis shorting, or the connector is bad, you
can get same flashing statebecause of the video cable.

Check also connectors, try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Tv shuts down

Unit has gone into a shutdown status. You need a technician to come out and troubleshoot the set and determine the problem. Could be as small as a cold solder joint or as bad as a large short.

The tv shuts off by itself. I will turn it on..and after awhile, it just turns off by itself, and then after about a minute I can turn it on again and watch tv for awhile, and then it will do it again.

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. The faulty component(s) are heating up, tripping the fault control, and shutting down, it cools down again, and will restart, then the process repeats, it will eventually fail fully.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem.

TV shuts itself off..red light blinks 7 times.

The 7 blinks usually indicates a high voltage shutdown situation. Without the specific model, I can;t give you details about parts etc. The options are a defective flyback transformer or problem with the voltage regulation circuits. Please update this with the model number and I'll post additional details as soon as I can.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a sony wega

Generally speaking whent he set shuts itself down, the standby light will blink a code. This will be a count followed by a short pause and then the count again etc.

When teh set shuts down, count the blinks and post it here. That will indicate the circuit that has the problem.

I have a 52" LG 52SX4 DLP TV, it now shuts off itself after about 10-15 minutes of playing. The bulb is fine, and fan is working fine, it doesnt get too hot, but tv still shuts itself off. I can turn...

Look for capacitors that are bulged and going bad, that is a common symptom when they fair, either the set won't come on unless its warmed up or it will shut down after it run for awhile

Toshiba projection tv

Unplug the TV from the outlet for about 30 seconds. This will reset the microprocessor. Re apply AC and power on the TV. If your lucky the set will come on and play. If not, the red light will start blinking again indicating shutdown. There are many reasons for the set to go into shutdown, but one of the most common cause is failure of the convergence output IC`s. If your TV is in shutdown, you will need to find a qualified technician for proper diagnosis and repair.
