Open the cover at the back of the printer remove the paper jam from there, and check some rubber mechanism that the cartridge had contacts.

HP Officejet Pro K8600 CARRIAGE STALLED

Hi,

Make sure that you have tried the steps in the following web link:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01287261

If the issue persists, then this is a hardware issue. From my experience Carriage Stalled errors are usually due to a hardware failure.

The Carriage Jam error message displays on the control panel display. The print carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, stalls against the left side of the printer. A paper jam might have occurred previously.

The printer may be faulty. I suggest you return it to the supplier to have it fixed or replaced under warranty. If you try to fix it yourself you may void your warranty.

Problems with HP printers message saying

first of all please go ahead and disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer
press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds
reconect the power cable back to the printer
check if there is any paper stuck inside the printer
try and move the carriage manually (carriage is the station where the cartridges are installed )
follow the steps :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01434520&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3645100&lang=en
and stil if nothing happens uninstall and reinstall the cartridges:
and check if everything is working fine
if still the same problem happens contact HP since this being an hardware issue they will probably replace the printer for you if its under warranty:
let them know what have we done and they will go ahead and replace the printer for you

My HP Deskjet 3920 shows error "The carriage is stalled." Now how can I print ? Please solve problem

Any more info?
Has it been printing ok until now? Has it not been used for a while?
Try turning off printer, then re-boot computer.
If still a problem, open the top of printer and put ONE drop of fine oil (sewing machine pref) on the two metal rods the carriage slides on, then turn on and off printer after closing lid, carriage should move.
Try printing again
