SOURCE: Amplifier does not turn on. Power supply available

When running multiple amps you need a relay most of the time for the remote wire off the radio this is because the radio was built to power one not multiples. one 12 volt relay may help .check local car audio store. also when hooking up relay it has to have a 12 volt power wire connected to it usually the center pin on the relay is your connection for the power wire the you connect your remote wire from the radio to the relay then connect each amp independently to the relay. Hope this helps write back if not . and if so leave feedback

Lights up & getting no power to subs

for a test
disconnect everything from the remote terminal in the amplifier
get a bit of wire and connect the remote terminal to a 12 volt supply
does it turn on now?

if yes then check the remote wire from the radio does it become 12v when the radio is on and 0v when it is off

if no make sure that the amplifier has been grounded properly and all the power cables are connected properly

The 12 volt connection sparks when connected. then not even the protect light comes on. the protect light only comes on when the remote wire is connected and the power wire is not.

The 12 Volts being applied will spark initially. There are large capacitors on the input powers supply rail. Once they charge no more spark. The protect light comes on when you apply remote voltage because you are actually telling the amp to turn on and there is a problem with it like an output transistor is shorted or your power supply could have a problem. Hope this helps.

Amplifier doesnt cut off with car, battery dies every time

I assume you are speaking of the car battery, and it gets drained when the ignition is turned off.
Your problem is you have connected your system to the wrong power connection. Automobiles have wiring lines that supply power all the time, to other parts of your vehicle. You need to find a power connection, preferably from your fuse box, that stops supplying power when the ignition is turned off. This will also help provide a back-up fuse incase of any other problems you might incur.

Green light, No Power

Disconnect the remote wire and make a jumper at the amp from the 12v + to the remote input and see if you get the same results. If yes, then you probably have a bad ground point. It might not be able to handle the transfer load it's receiveing. If no, then you have an issue with your remote wire or power wire. Check for any kinks or pinches in the wire.

Quick question about the power

The remote turn on terminal on the amp needs to be connected to a switched power source. Typically, it's the remote turn-on/power antenna wire on the head unit. If your head unit doesn't have such a control wire, connect the remote turn-on terminal to a wire that's controlled by the ignition switch.

It's VERY important to fuse all of the wires properly. If you're unsure of the proper fuse for a given wire size, read pages 14 and 16 of the Basic Car Audio Electronics site.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

After connecting my Sony XM-1252GTR Car Audio Amplifier it won't turn on

Hi. You should be able to turn the amp on by touching the remote wire to the B+ main power terminal. this will tell you if it is a problem with the remote from your head unit.

NS- 1600 amp

You need to use a multimeter to confirm that you have a good ground and sufficient voltage on the B+ and remote wires. I'll assume that you've checked the on-board fuses (if it has them).

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

If the voltage remains near or above 12v and the amp does nothing, the amp probably has a blown power supply.

AMP turns ON then turns off

The power antenna wire only supplies 12vdc when the radio is on. When CD or other sources are selected, the power antenna wire goes to 0vdc. The remote turn-on wire provides 12vdc whenever the head-unit is on. If your amps are powered on only when the radio is turned on, I would bet that you have the power antenna wire connected and not the remote turnon wire.
