Makita buffer clicking, sparking and burn smell, power loss upon immediate use

it is a armature problem common to makita products
replacing one armature with a new one does not solve the problem as the fault is a design fault
probably armature not wired heavy enough for continuous running
consider replacing it with a better brand that enables continuous operation

Have replaced motor brushes & now popping sound when running, with sparks seen in filter housing. Please advise.

The armature is bad, you need to replace the whole motor. IF the armature has worn down where the brushes contact it, then it is continuously shorting out when it runs.

When I vacuum I smell smoke and i see flashes of light as if it is sparking. Any ideas?

There's a cut wire you need to bring your vacuum to an electrician to fix it before it start a fire.

Hello can you help me please? I have a Kirby G4 vacuum cleaner, It did work ok until it started to give off burning smell and lots of sparks from the brushes. I have changed these brushes, the motor still...

Some debris, even sand or dirt, probably got into the motor, causing damage to the armature. If this is the case, you will need to replace the motor. The burning smell from the motor is generally a sure sign of a bad motor.

I'm installing a new ignition module on a bc24w weedeater trimmer--the part has 2 screws holding it on-it is apparently adjustable--what gap setting should I use between it and the magnet (armature &...

I usually use a match book cover between it and the magnet. this way the gap is about right and it will not hang on the magnets. put through both sides at once, then push it in and tighten it up. then take out guage. spark plug gap is .025, the armature gap on most small engines is .010,

I have a Kirby G7 and it will run on the low speed setting. When i switch to the high speed it starts to spark and smoke near the back of the motor near the windings. Do i have a motor going bad or is...

It's probably doing that on low speed too, you just aren't noticing. What you'll have to do is get to the motor. Look at the armature and see if it's scared, missing an pieces, scratched up.. if so, then your motor is shot, throw it away.. If not, if the armature is clean, as in no physical damage, then all that is needed is to replace the carbon brushes and everything should be ok

Eureka canister vacuum cleaner Model 6865

The 6865 has a high rpm AMTEK Lamb motor, Brushes will seldom solve the problem at this stage.
Once the sparking and burning starts the conectiion between the brush and commutator is arcing and burning. If the sparks are blue, save your time.
A good service tech will run in brushes with a seating stone and a low voltage setup to allow new brushes to seat, but this is generally best accomplished on heavy duty , lower rpm motors.
IF YOUR ARMATURE IS SCRATCHY LOOKING OR WORN LIKE AN APPLE CORE,OR THE SEGMENTS ARE NOT PARALLEL IN THE SPACING YOU WILL NEED A NEW MOTOR.
