I need info on a particular TV

Resolution is 1080P (1920x1080). It is 3D ready, and has very good reviews from owners regarding picture quality and overall value. One limitation you will encounter, is that it is more difficult to see the screen from the side, than it is with LCD or plasma. Also, due to lamp warmup times, it takes longer for the TV to turn on. However, you will save a lot of money by purchasing a DLP versus LCD/LED/plasma.

Poor viewing quality

By poor color quality, do you mean that if you turn the color control all the way down, the black and white picture is more like black and red, green or blue - or do you have a good black and white image? If the B&W image is good, and the TV is an old (8+ years) one, maybe the mirror inside the set needs a good cleaning - especially if there are smokers in the room. If you have a B&W picture that is tinted, then you may have to go into a service menu to adjust it back to a better picture. Hard to guess the problem without more specific description of symptoms.

I have an LG 42lh30 I bought less than a month ago from frys. When I opened the box it did seem slightly used maybe it was returned and refurbished or something. I have an xbox and I use a philips 1080p...

Hi,

Is it a Duplicate Question....Wonder why?

Same reply :0

This is an internal Fault. Diagnosis is required to make sure whether it is Failed T Con Board or Light Engine. I do not think that it would really help by changing the TV settings. This was a Common Problem with Old LCD's where you got Blurry Spots specially while Playing Real Fast Movies or Games. On Few Occasions, it as Corrupted Firmware.

As i cannot see the Video or Screen from here, more likely what i could guess it is an Internal Fault as you have tried using HDMI, Use different Setting Combination's and you got the same Picture Quality with DVD as well.

So, what i could suggest, get back to the Seller and Lodge an Official Complain and get it Replaced. There is no point in Opening and TV and Inspecting it and Replacing Components when it was less than a month ago.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hdtv has no sound when watching hdtv channels using a rabbit antenna. good picture quallity but no sound

newer television sets employing hd or digital require good antenna signal strength to allow the sound to come on.

there is an auto muting device built into the set so as if the picture is at all snowy it will mute the sound.
what you can do however with this set is to enter service mode and there is an option that you can change that will disable this muting aspect of the television.
The reason why a lot of sets have this option is to prevent damage to speakers.

I have a samsung sp42q2hl, which on the front of the tv say's it is a hdtv ready, and yet i cannot watch high defenition images or movies, also there is no hdmi inlet at the back so i'm not sure how you...

Hi.
Use component to connect this will give yu HD picture,
On the back of the set you will see A group of 5 phono sockets Blue, Green, Red, These carry picture,

Then Red, White, these carry stereo sound.
Component video 0831d.gif
Component-video cable b.gif
Component video improves the picture quality even more by not only separating the color from the black-and-white portions of the picture but by further splitting the color information into two color-difference signals. When the picture signal is split up in this way, you get an unfiltered, uninterrupted image, with better resolution and greatly improved color saturation. And this is why component video is the predominant method of hookup from HDTV set-top decoders to HDTVs.

So this is how your set can produce HD picture from Hd source.

Sony 57 Inch XBR 2001

I don't have the XBR, but on my sony, using the cable box remote, I had to go into menu/display/etc. and mark the 1080i, 720p, and 480i settings. you usually get a "if you can see this" comment if your tv accepts the settings. for standard tv i set the screen to normal, and when the upper channels go to HD, they auto go to full screen. Sounds like you are using the component cable, and also make sure you are on the video port of remote, and the the TV input. The above worked for mine. Hope it helps.

Picture quality

The output from your sat reciver is not HD unless it says right on it that it is . The signal your getting now is a digital signal from the dish to the reciver, but from the reciver to the TV set, it is analog. To answer short and sweet, Yes, you will need an HD reciver for the satallite to get the most out of your HD TV set. Good Luck Ps and please dont forget to rate this.
