Sony sets will have good picture quality. There is no doubt about it. Check your picture settings. Download the user manual to this set, and refer it. Make sure that all picture settings are correct.

AOC PD4264 Screen fault

Extremely blue color temperature that cannot be adjusted; some false-contouring artifacts in dark scenes; no picture-in-picture; limited connectivity with just one DVI and no HDMI inputs.
If use as a TV monitor:
The number of colors you can display is controlled by the video card installed in your computer. In order to display more than 16 colors, the proper video card driver must be installed. Contact your computer or video card manufacturer to obtain the latest driver from them.
If you are watching standard-definition or Cable/RF signal on an HDTV, the picture may appear to be of poor quality. This is because the TV is designed for viewing HD or at least digital content. Your best bet would be to upgrade to a Dish Network HD receiver and connect it to the TV with an HDMI cable. Similarly inputting analog signal to TV from your DVD player will not appear to be of great quality. A newer DVD player would most likely have component video output which would look much better. To get even greater quality, an upconverting DVD player connected with an HDMI cable would look the best. You could also upgrade to a Blu-ray disc player, which is capable of playing HD Blu-ray discs as well as DVD's at higher resolution. A less expensive choice could also be a streaming media box. You need to check the resolution of your TV thru your input setting, try to check which will give better picture quality between 1080 or 720 settings. Also secure that your input setting as either HDMI 1 or 2 or 3, you can use the original remote and change setting by pressing input in cycle.

Hello, yes you should have no problem with picture quality the difference should be hardly noticeable. You should however buy good quality leads to make up for the lack of HDMI ( High Definition Multimedia Interface). If the Blue Ray only has HDMI output, you can get an adaptor from Tandys or similar. I hope that helps you.

New flat screen hdtv has a fuzzy picture

Yes you will get a better picture quality out of a cable box if you get an HD cable box.
The reason you are getting the diminished picture is due to the signal you are feeding the TV is an analog signal. The newer HD TV's are made for digital TV and this older technology shows all its flaws on this type of TV.

When you get the new box understand that the same channels you are getting plugged directly into the tv are still going to have some grainy look to them but the good thing is that a lot of them are starting to be rebroadcast on HD channels and that is where your new toy will truly shine.

Enjoy your new TV...

Good Luck...

I have a 1080 with 120 and my picture is not clear. If it's not a hd channel it really is terrible and if it is hd channel it still is not in full focus. The picture is not sharp. I am really disappointed...

I am assuming your set is new. Ask for it to be serviced under warranty. This sounds like your set is defective for some reason.
LCD TV sets are known for their exceptional sharpness and performance when having a good quality signal source, and especially with an HD programs.

Poor picture quality

First of all do you have a HD signal?
these sets are made for HD and most look good when you set the HD box to 1080i , the cheaper sets do not look good with a non HD signal.
check all inputs, dvd, HD air, and component and post which are bad to get more help

Samsung le40a lcd - picture quality

Hi - I have some suggestions. The following factors effect picture quality:
1. Source (because LCD TVs have much higher picture quality than traditional CRT "Tube" TVs, the worse your source material, the worse it looks on a LCD TV).
DVD and Sky/Digital TV should look excellent on this TV when connected with a good quality Scart lead (nothing too expensive, but a Oxygen Free Copper Gold lead may help) directly into one of the TV's Scart inputs (avoid using "switching" boxes for multiple equipment).
Also, bear in mind that this is a HUGE screen (40 inches I think) and will REALLY show up bad source material.
The best advice I can give is, if you have HD-ready equipment use HDMI connections for everything (ideally with an HD-uplscaling DVD player which will "improve" the quality of standard DVDs on the TV - I recommend models by Philips) and check that you are in "Movie" or "Cinema" mode on the TV.
Make sure that all of your equipment, like your Sky digibox, is set to 16:9 mode (not 4:3) aswell to preserve the true widescreen aspect ratio.
Hope that helps!

Yes, you must get a HD box. Digital is not HD quality. You will use the hd inputs on the jack panel that are green = Y
blue = Pb
red = Pr
Audio will be Red & White ( L+R )
