Question about Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player

1 Answer

Car battery disconnected over 4 hrs now car radio is useless

At christmas my Ford Falcon AU (1999 model) battery was disconnected for over 4 hours. After it was reconnected the 'keep alive memory' had lost its information and the car would stall at intersections while using LPG gas fuel plus the Blaupunkt Heidelelberg CD50 became useless. There were no stations available. It took nearly four weeks before the PCM- Powertrain Control Module had relearnt its functions to operate properly and stop the LPG gas running from stalling. However the car radio is still useless. The electric automatic car aerial motor has been malfunctioned for over a year but this did not stop the radio from operating before the battery was disconnected as described above.

Just reset the sations by chosing 1 then go 2 the desired sation then holding the 1 button until an audible chime is heard or the station number flashes then see if it stays there when you change station and then go back to 1

Radio was working then went off the eject button works the clock button works but the radio or USB will not work no sound

Hi Steve, If you disconnected your battery then check out the link below for more information or take your registration papers with your licence (licence is to prove YOU own the car) to a car dealer ie: Holden, Ford, Chrysler and ask at the sales office for the RADIO SECURITY PIN NUMBER, You'll receive your Radio security pin number and Radio serial number. These numbers belong to your car and once you have them DON'T loose them because in Australia some dealers charge a fee and some don't.... Hope this helped....CHEERS..

Trying to install factory cd-cassette combo from a 1999 ford explorer into a 1996 ford crown victoria with only a cassette radio player. need to know wiring data on both vehicles.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On your need for the radio wiring of 99 Ford Explorer and a 96 Ford Crown Victoria, see below wiring scheme:

Confirm with a voltmeter on the +12 and an ohmmeter for speaker continuity.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Wiring colours and what they mean

Are you trying to use that radio in a different vehicle, or are you trying to find out what wires in your vehicle you need to connect to a new radio? Your best bet either way is to go to your local library and find the service manual to that make, model, and year of vehicle, and look up either the wiring diagram, or connector views of the radio. You can also buy conversion harnesses to plug a new radio right into your vehicle, so you don't have to splice wires. You don't want to just start hooking up wires because putting power or ground in the wrong spot can wreak havoc on the vehicle and the radio. Hope this helps.
