The Asus website, www.asus.com, will have the files you need. All you need to do is lookup your board under the support section and select the o/s you are using. The updated bios will probably fix your detect processor problem. Hope this helps.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Asus striker extreme init8042 error, no display

The best way to ensure this is working - is to use another video card and attach a monitor to that - it may be that the video GPU is bad on the board. If it works with the external video card - then you can go into the BIOS settings and see if the on-board GPU is enabled. There is usually a priority or order assigned as well. If it does not find the onboard, then look for the PCI-E if it does not find a card plugged into PCI-E then look for AGP etc.

However changes are the on-board GPU is bad.

I have a asus striker extreme motherboard, quad core Q6600 processor, 8800 gtx graphics card, my pc was running fine suddenly it just hanged ,this has happened a few time before but after a while it starts...

Sounds like you need to go into the Bios if you know how and adjust the thermal values in there. I suggest checking heatsink on cpu is seated correctly and add a fan to increase airflow in side the case. Seems like a heat problem from what you describe.

Asus striker extreme motherboard comes up with cpu init code on lcd screen

You will probably have to go into the BIOS and set defaults. You can also Goolge the computer to find the jumper that can be used to default the BIOS back to factory spec's.
you can also call Asus and have them send you another BIOS chip, it plugs right in.
(found this 1 on the Internet, Goolge "cpu init code + Asus")

Asus bios problem

Unless there is a compelling reason to update the bios it should be left alone. Apparently this is one reason for that sage advice.

Go back to asus, download an older version of the bios and install it. Fortunately you didn't end up unable to boot or you would be buying a new board.
