NEC 17'' Multisync CRT monitor does nothing when turned on

I have a 17'' NEC MultiSync CRT monitor model PN7701. It does nothing when I turned on the power, LED indicator goes green then orange later. I heard only a click that's all. What could be the trouble?

Thanks to jimscott531. I connected the monitor to the pc but still there's no picture/video. I could see there's light in the neck of picture tube but no high voltage.

In a move my NEC MultiSync 5FG monitor got disconnected from its BNC cable (5 BNC). Now I don't know which leads connects to which ports. Can anyone help?

The cable should be labeled with R (RED video signal), G (GREEN video signal), B (BLUE video signal), V (Vertical Sync signal), and H (Horizontal Sync signal), so you just have to match the plug to the sockets.
I hope it is clear explanations.

How do you put a monitor into power save?

Depending on your operating system go to Control Panel of Windows and find the Power Options section.
There should be a setting there to change how long to waite before the monitor sleeps.

Operating at a slower than recommended refresh rate

The refresh rate can be configured in Windows in the display properties. It does require that your monitor has been identified or configured, otherwise it can limit the refresh rate.
You can overrule the setting to not limit the refresh rate to compatible devices only, but be careful to not configure it too high as it can break your monitor!

Nec 700 crt

Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.
