Camera will not turn on, the green light only turns on for a second and turns off. I've put a few new batteries and it still does the same thing.

I had the same problem. Sent the camera in for repair and it lasted a few more months. This is a really bad camera and I'm about to toss it in the trash!

To reset the camera, remove the batteries and leave them out for approx. 1 hour then replace the batteries. See if the camers works again.

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Are you sure you finalized the firmware upgrade procedure according to the instructions? This sounds a little like you pulled the plug a little too soon... Have you done it according to these instructions: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/OMfirm.asp And kept the camera connected until the update was 100 % complete? If you did everything right, try reseting the camera - take the batteries out for the day, and see if it helps. if you're back to step one(the reason you did the upgrade), try the firmware upgrade again. If still it doesn't work contact olympus, and I hope you have a valid warranty. Good luck

SOURCE: My camera won't turn on even with new batteries

Just figured out a solution. When turning on camera, press the review button (probably any'll work but this is the one I used) as the kodak screen appears. My camera still won't turn on normally but this is better then no camera at all! Good luck and hope this helps.

The camera sounds like it needs repair.
Make sure that the battery is either full charged or has new batteries installed.
If the camera still cannot start, then call Canon Repair. Go to the 800j number, give them the model you have. If it is still under warranty, it may be fixed for free. repair

Camera won't turn on

If the green light blinks and it beeps 3 times when you try to turn in on, push and hold the 'power' button and the 'play' button at the same time for a few seconds - it worked for my S730. Good luck!

Battery keeps dying

Most likely the charging circuitry has failed. When you fully charge the new battery what does the battery meter read on the camera? Your two options no matter what the case are repair vs. replacement. If you need further assistance let me know.

Samsung camera not turning on.

First make sure you batteries are strong.

Then this is not a great solution, but try this. 1) Remove the battery. 2) Hold down the power button and wait 30 seconds...but keep holding the button. 3) After 30 seconds and while holding the button down insert the batteries and then close the compartment. It should come on.

I managed to duplicate the problem by opening the battery compartment with the camera turn on and then if I put them back it would turn on and the lense does not retract.

Good Luck

Won't turn on

Ouch! You can't use an AC adapter with any battery-operated equipment you choose to just because the plug fits physically. The A70 requires 5-6 volts, and a Pavilion adapter typically puts out 18 volts. You most probably blew out your Canon's power supply within a few seconds, unless it's fused somehow. Next stop: tech support/repair shop/camera cemetery. Sorry.
