NOTE: REMOVE THE XXX FROM THE 'REPLY TO'

I have fitted a new "Tomato" Main board and Pentium 120.
My Epson LQ570 won't print any more and I am sure it is the port
problem. It works fine in DOS.
Win95 recognises the printer port and sets it up as ECP Printer Port.
When I manually delete it it and go to "Add New Hardware" and set it
up manually with the option "Printer Port", Win95 changes it back to
"ECP Printer Port" on reboot.
How can stop it doing this.
Please help!!
Andrew

You??ll have to change the printerport-setting in your BIOS, or plug and
play
will always show that it is an ECP.
In your BIOS you can choose between ECP, EPP or normal (sometimes called
SPP).
Try the last one.
You should find this in IO-settings. Depends on the type of your BIOS.

P/I-P55T2P4) and processor (P200), printing in DOS, pages and pages of
garbage in Win95).
To remedy the problem, I re-booted, got into the BIOS setup of the
motherboard by pressing DELETE at boot-up (your key might be different),
changed the parallel port from ECP/EPP (or something like that) to NORMAL,
shut down, and then booted to Win95.
Voil??! No printer problems. FWIW, the Microsoft Knowledge Bank mentions
this problem and one of the recommendations is to do what I said above.
Ligneous and petrous projectiles can potentially fracture my osseous
