Problem for Copiers
Generic problem for all Copiers
Sharp AR-337 COPIER SCANNER LOCKS UP
I have a Sharp AR-337 copier and it has this problem:
The scanner locks up at the time its copying, sometimes it makes two copies OK and sometimes it locks up three or five times continuously, and the copier does not register any error code.
I have checked the main charge and the TC corona and they are in good conditions.
I have checked the scanner completely to see if it has any problem, and when i move it manually it moves without a problem.
I also checked the scanner motor, the scanner driver PWB, the PCU PWB and all its connectors and harnesses. And everything is all right.
And i have changed the scanner completely from another copier i have and the problem persists.
If someone have had a problem like this, could you help me?
Thanks.

- If you have read well i said IT DOES NOT register any error code.
Of course i tried the 1-1 simulation code and the scanner test runs perfectly, As i said in the problem i posted the motor is all right.
I also checked the lubrication of the tracks and they are in excellent conditions. So they are the pulleys and wires.
And i have checked the manual too, all the parameters of the machine are according to the manual.
Extending my commentary the machine sometimes it makes copies all right but suddenly the scanner stops running and locks up being three or four inches from its initial position.

Issue: Scanner moving slowly sometimes stopping intermittently
Cause: The SCSI port A was pinching the supply voltage for the scanner cable at the rear of the machine
Action:
replace broken or pinched wired reinstal the SCSI port
this may also cause the ICU and the flash to become corrupt, in this case replace the ICU and the flash card
B
Scanner stops during scan , sometime causing l3-00
Cause : Pinched wire harness from the scanner motor pwb at the PCU pwb ( tie wraps to tight )
Action
Replace wire harness and secure it to other harness but not to tight or remove tie wraps and repair the wiring

Do you know how to get into the simulation mode
Like Clear ,exposure mode, clear , interrupt, are you familar with the service manual procedures ?with Sharp, are you an independant dealer. ? into simulation mode and run the Scanner mode, make sure it run back and forth ok, lubricate the track, if it gets stuck it will produce and error or stop running.
Before i can help you I need to know your expretise.

- Do Trying Clear the Jam Counter and then trying clearing the Memory, You may have something in the Program or in Memory that could be causing this problem. Try That.
