Look on the unit for the electrical data plate. It should have the required amperage rating on it.
Have the actual amperage being pulled by the unit checked.
You may have improper voltage being supplied to the unit which causes excessive amperage.
The breaker could be weak. Meaning that it may be tripping at an amperage less than 30.
Your wire size may be too small for the circuit which would cause overheating of the circuit and tripping the breaker.
Do not change the breaker to a higher amperage unless the wire size attached to that circuit is rated for it.
A breakers job is to stop power should a overheating of circuit or a short circuit occurs. It protects the circuit from catching fire inside the walls and burning the place down.
Good Luck and I hope this helps.

If you are only getting 120v to the dryer, you still have a breaker tripped. It should be right next to the single pole 30. It takes 2 breakers to get the 240v you need to run the dryer. Try resetting another breaker expecially the ones marked 30amp. You do need to get a double pole breaker installed even for safety reasons.

First id make sure you have both phase of AC power coming into dryer.
Go to your house panel and reset yoru house breaker for the dryer. If in the USA the breaker should be a 240volt / 30amp breaker. It will have two breakers tied together at the trip switch.
If AC power is good at the dryer outlet then it could be one of the followings.

  1. Open Thermal limit fuse or trip switch.
  2. Open Heater Element.
  3. Control board is faulty.

30amp breaker labeled heat strip trips and no hot water

That 300 amp breaker must be controlling both your hot water tank and some heat strip somewhere in your house which is designed to either prevent a pipe from freezing or melt ice on the eves of your roof.

You may have a bad motor that turns the drum. Have it checked out. Does your breaker trip when it stops running? Last I would check is the timer of the dryer.
