Visit the microsoft hardware support website - enter your webcam details and go to the support page for your model Read the links for any clues to your problem
You may have lost some support software when you had the virus - try and find out what software you need to run the webcam - contact Microsoft if necessary
click start menu, click all programs, from the list of programs, look out for Cyber shot, click it and that's the webcam.
After you have finished taking pics, a cyber shot folder would have been created in "My Documents". Open it and you will find the pics you snapped there.
Although not all Hp pavillion uses Cyber shot, but just check all programs, you will find the web cam there.
Change default microphone from your camera property. That is it should not be the computers default microphone of sound card , it should be the camera’s mic.
You will probably need to reconfigure whatever software you are using for the video call to pull audio from the Onboard Mic from the Cam. If it is not configured to pull the audio from that Mic on the Cam, it may be looking for audio somewhere else. This is sadly an issue with a lot of Video Chat software applications.
This happens to me quite often as well. Since I installed Skpe as a matter of fact. Now I am here searching for answers to yet another problem with my dv1000,...............Now the MIC is not working,...the stripe is gone,....but how do I fix the mic?
I took the cam apart, removed the mic from its seat and gently separated the red and black wires - ran the red one over top the lens and the black one underneath. Replaced the mic, screwed it all back together and the problem is gone. For now. One tip is to record sound using Windows Sound Recorder while you're doing this, watch the input line and when it goes flat you know the buzz is gone. While it buzzez, the line will be active.
When i try to talk to talk to anyone on msn with the VX6000 webcam they cannot hear me for screeches, echos and distorted voice, i have tried everything on support site and got nowhere. When i test in voice playback it does the same. Any help appreciated!
