The Sansa Clip can only recognize certain file formats (mp4 is not one of them). Your best bet is to only download songs that are in mp3 format. iTunes format will not work. Some WMA's will work, but others will not - it all depends on whether the WMA files has a fixed-term license or whether it has a license that allows transfer to portable devices. Songs in mp3 format will never give you trouble.

Videos must be transferred using the Sansa Media Converter - it is available for free from Sandisk's website. If the media converter does not recognize certain formats, such as FLV, you may need to download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder.

This player cannot play mp4 files only mp3 files. When the files are copied to the MP3 player the computer can play the mp4 files from the MP3 player but when you play these mp4 files straight from the MP3 Go Gear it cannot see or play these files.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Q: I have a collection of Anime, movie, etc. and then I have an iPhone. Most of the anime and movie are in Avi format, now I’m wondering if and how I can convert these avi videos to Mp4 for playback on my iPhone? (By the way, I have a pc running on Windows 7), Thanks!

A: If you have an iPhone, you may have encountered the same problem. You have bunch of movies which you have downloaded from internet, and you want to pull out your iPhone to watch a few clips when you’re bored on the road or if you have extra time between classes. While your iPhone only accepts videos in MP4 or MOV format, but most of your downloaded movies are in AVI format. And that is the question- how to put downloaded movies in AVI format to your iPhone so you can enjoy them on the go? Basically, it is not difficult to make it. What you have to do is to convert avi file to mp4 for playback on your iPhone.

Things You'll Need
An iPhone
Downloaded movies or videos in AVI format
AVI to MP4 Converter
A PC running on Windows OS (including Windows7 OS)

A PC running on Windows OS (including the latest Windows7)
For those windows users, there are various AVI to MP4 converters, both free and paid, such as free Handbreak, but for windows 7 users, like me, the only one I had a good luck is Wondershare DVD Converter Ultimate, which is handy for converting AVI to MP4 files and transferring these AVI files for iPhone. Now, let’s check out it together.

Steps to convert AVI to MP4 on windows 7 for your iPhone:

Step 1: Free download this Wondershare DVD Converter Ultimate, install and run it.

Step 2: Add AVI files

Loading AVI movies will be your first step. Click "Add Video" or just drag & drop your AVI files to the file list directly, you can easily add AVI files.

Step 3: Select MP4 as output format

Select iPhone video MP4 as output format from the categorized output formats list in "Profile" drop-down list and specify the output directory to save your converted files in "Output" drop-down list.

Step 4: Start to convert AVI to MP4 file
After you select MP4 format, hit the Start button to convert AVI to MP4 files. And all the tasks will be done at fast speed and high quality.

Step 5: Transfer MP4 files to iPhone
The last step is to transfer converted MP4 files to iPhone. Of course, you can use iTunes which is free but it only provides one way solution to transfer files from PC to iPhone. There is another option if you still want to get your iPhone files back to PC, you can use an iPhone Transfer, which can transfer files between iPhone and PC freely.

Tip:
If you want to edit your movies, such as splitting it into sveral clips, adding subtiltes, or adding watermarks etc, you can click "Edit" to make tailor-made movies as you like.

That's it, with easy steps you can convert AVI to MP4 for your iPhone. Enjoy watching movies anytime and anywhere.

You should be able to plug the samsung MP4 player into the USB port on your computer.

For Music you need to be able to run MP3 files not MP4 (which is for video).

You can donwload music as MP3 files , or convert them from another format using some free converter software avaialbe o nthe internet.

My pc says music is downloaded but its not on my mp4

Reason for this could the format of music your mp4 required.

You also may have transferred the music to a folder other than that of which the music files needs to be in.

Check back your folder structure on your device.

i think you should check the file type of the music you download. maybe it does not match with the one that should be dowloaded in your mp3 player. but im not that sure. just check for the other answers. try to download some audio or mp3/mp4 converter to convert the one you download with to the one that you want to download on your mp3. like for example. music.mpeg to music.wav or music.mp3, something like that
