Question about Acer Aspire 5520-5908 Notebook
The drive was working fine, i even ripped a cd a few minutes before it stopped working. i installed a game(mortal kombat 4) which had a registry file saying that if i install it some components might stop working. when i had finished playing the game i tried to play a dvd which did not play, when i opened my computer the drive was not showing up neither is it showing up in divice manager. empowering technology is telling me that the computer has no cd/dvd drive. the drive is still receiving power.
What u might have to do is a system restore, which will restore the system to the date that u installed mortal kombat 4.
if u are using vista, just type system restore in the search bar, then back date the system to the date to the date u installed mortal kombat
if u are using XP, open "Run" on the start menu, type "msconfig" then click " launch system restore" on the general tab, than back date the system to the date u installed mortal kombat.
well.........i hope this works for you.
