Go to my computer-> c drive-> program files-> MYOB folder-> look for your previous year files over there.

Also check the backup folder.

Weren't you able to find the backed up files? Are you getting any kind of errors?

The backup files would be would be of the form .zip.

Go to my computer-> c drive-> program files-> MYOB folder-> MYOB data Backup/backup folder-> open any of the files you see over there by double clicking it.

If you are unable to find files over here then To restore a Company File, with any Company File open (even the Clearwater sample file) go to File -> Restore select the backup file to restore from and click Open. You then select the destination for the restored Company File and click Save. A confirmation message will appear, click OK to restore and log into the file.

MYOB will restore your MYOB Company File to the destination folder selected in the Save As window. In addition to this, MYOB will create a folder within the destination folder named TEMPLATES. Within this folder will be other folders containing the other MYOB data that was backed up.

If you have backed up it on a CD or any other device then use it to retrieve the data.

Please see this link for refrence---

You are not able to view the data of your first quarter because either the data was over written or you backed it up to a diffrent location or you didn't backed it up.

If you backed it up then try looking for various locations you think you have backed the data on.

In future keep a backup of data on both computer and some external media(CD, USB/Flash drive, etc) aswell.

Enter transactions for closed financial year

Do a backup before you try this.

Go to File - Start a New Year - Start a New Financial Year. Continue through the next few screens until you see the Current financial year and a box showing the New Financial Year. Say your current financial year is 2013 and the New Financial Year shows as 2014. Change this to 2012 and then continue through the screens til the end. Then check your financial year under Setup - Company Information, you will find it now shows 2012. Enter the transactions you need, then go through the process again to change to 2013.

This is an undocumented feature un-supported by MYOB. Try with caution - not aware of any serious consequences but a few I know have done this.

Changing your system date and opening MYOB is a sure fire way to get locked out. MYOB records the date each time you open it. If the date goes backwards, it locks you out. Part of their protection.

Corrupt MYOB data file

Our MYOB 14 .dat file is crashing. We suspect a corrupt entry in the database. The file will open but as soon as we trying to do anything the program closes and produces the following error: MYOB must terminate. Termination Code 1284 Important Details: Error -3000 in DMGTEKey (5037:7000:69) Seems to be the same error every time. We have tried running MYOB's Verify and Optimise tools with no luck. Each time either tool is run the program crashes and displays the error: An error occurred while attempting to compact the database. DM Error = (-3000-5049-7000-158) Restoring from a backup is not an option as last backup was 3 months ago. So looking for solutions to fix the current file please. Will not be satisfied if the solution is to take it to MYOB. Need someone who can actually dig around inside the file and correct the errors??

'Print error #5'

MYOB requires that you have a default printer selected on your computer system. If no printer driver is installed, when opening a company file, a printer error #5 is displayed.

Highlight your Printer and go to File on then Menu bar/Set as default.and Turn off user account control if you're using vista. It's in your security center in the control panel. Turning this off should fix the printer error 5 issue .

HI, I have been using MYOB PLUS version 11 on a PC for 6 years. I just got a MAC and thought that MYOB First Edge was the right program. In fact it doesn't open up any MYOB PLUS files at all and MYOB...

FirstEdge was designed with your small business in mind. Whether you use Mac OS X or Mac OS 8.6-9.x, you can:
  • manage your sales, receivables and GST obligations
  • track your bank accounts
  • job costing and profitability
  • store your contact information
  • print professional-looking invoices — all from the one easy to use system
it should all work fine on your new mac!?

If your mybo plus version was a mac version also, you would be able to network the program on to both computers.
