There are 2 screws holding the loewr panel on the unut, you can remove the panel and watch it operate to pinpoin the"noise" most likely cause is a roller on rear wall, or perhaps a faulty front set of glides( the drum sits onthem)

What do we do to address thumping noise in Kenmore Elite HE4 Dryer?

It is probably one of the idler wheels it rotates on. Look for a flat spot and if you didn't replace the drum your self ask for your money back.

MAKING NOISE

The bogey wheels when worn will cause noise as the drum rotates. This assumes the drum gasket is properly in place.

Creda simplicity TVU1 tumble dryer is making a thumping noise while drying

Hi dave hemming.
I do not believe it is a bearing that is causing your thumping noise
*****************************************************************************
No...you do not need a new drum...all you need is new drum rollers
You probably have a flat spot on one of the rollers, it will make the thumping sound when the drum rotates.
Go to the following webpage and get your drum rollers and install them and that should take care of the noise you are hearing

I have an admiral dryer and its making lots of noise.

The drum might be the problem. It rotates on nylon
slides or rubber wheels. If the slides are worn down,
replace them. My Kenmore rotates on two rubber
wheels and is 1985 vintage with some noise.

My GE Profile Dryer is still operating but produces loud intermitent noise as the drum rotates. What can I do to eliminate the noise?

It sounds like you may have a bad bearing in the back of the drum. That model rotates on a sort of ball and socket type mechanism. You may be able to lubricate it if the noise is just squealing/squeaking. If it is more than that, you'll probably need to replace the bearing mechanism. If you lube it, use a heavy weight lube that is rated for high heat (I've used brake caliper grease.)

When turned on, the drum makes a grinding noise as

The main bearing may be worn out at the back of the drum allowing the drum to wobble.Reach inside the drum and lift upward. If you can move it up and down this is probably the problem.

Metalic noise when drum rotates

Something has got in the tub or the bearing is going bad.
If something metalic has gone through a hole or over the top rim, you want to get it out immediately because further use will cut a hole in the tub or damage the drum.
If it's the bearing, it would likely have started soft & gotten louder with time. Is there any play in the drum if you try & move it side to side?

Grinding noise when drum rotates

may be a foreign object trapped in between the inner and outer tub. Major Disassembly required to split the outer tub. May also be the rear bearing in which case back half will have to be replaced.
