Solution!!!!!!!!!!!, Be sure to check your heat sinks, or add and replace new one's if they look worn out. another thing!, it is possibly your coolant fan. are you sure its the motherboard in your exsplenation? and how do you know its your motherboard. is it hot? could also have a lightbulb blown out in your (LCD) causeing you not to see your screen. if you have anymore question's ask me anytime.

My pavilion dv5-2231 nr Entertainment PC won't turn back on. When I press the power button it flashes along with the f12 button and nothing else happens. The screen doesn't even turn on. Help!

It looks like it may have overheated and the motherboard may be damaged. Remove the RAM and hdd. Try and boot to DOS. If it does, the motherboard is probably OK, if not seek a GPU reball.

I have a hp netbook laptop and it was working earlier but when I opened it it flashed my login screen and shut off and I can't get it back on and when I press the turn on button the charging button...

Remove the main battery and press power, sometimes this will solve the problem. If not, remove one stick of ram and power on, if not remove the second one and replace the first and try again. If no result it is probably a motherboard issue.

The laptop turns on. However, it gets stuck at the "starting windows" screen. i tried repairing the problem by using startup repair as recommended on the windows error recovery screen, but it...

Simple test: try to boot from a Linux Live-CD, one like
If you can then something is wrong with the hard disk - try to access them in Linux and see if all the data is still there and not corrupted. If the access is difficult and full of errors then you will need a new hard disk.
If you can't access it even with the live-CD then the motherboard of your laptop (more precisely its chipset) has failed and it will have to be replaced.

The laptop was turning on when i press on the power button but after a few second turning off by itself

It may be overheating or something is damaged on the main motherboard. If you have a warranty, you should use it.
Another possibility is that the power button may be stuck and the laptop may not recognize that the button has been released. This can sometimes cause that problem. Cleaning around it, or taking apart the laptop for a good thorough clean, can usually fix it. If you take apart the laptop, the warranty may be void.

My hp dv6125se

If you have power as you say w/ the lights but no screen, the first thing I would check is by reseating the memory modules in the computer. If that does not work possibly trying a new one.

Second it could be the processor overheated and may have worked loose, it would need checked and reseated.

If that does not work, I would have to say that it is entirely possible that the video section could have a problem, or another power fault with the mainboard.

After all that, I will say, YES it is possible the main board could be the culprit. At one time I know some DV6000's (certain pn#'s) had a recall for main board issues.

Try removing the battery and unplugging the computer. Then put the battery back in and plug the computer in and turn it on.
