Paper is torn at fuser area of Dell 1125 and cannot remove

I need help. I opened the front and the back of the printer and as gently as possible tried to remove the stuck sheet. No luck. Both the bottom and the top tore off. Now I only can see shredded paper from above and below the fuser area and cannot find any way to release, coax forward or pull the offending strip of paper out. When I turn the printer off and on it cycles and I get a message on the printer display ''Fuser Area Jam, Close Rear Cover and turn OFF/ON''. I also get a pop up message on my computer that says: ''Printer Status: 21004, Paper Jam. Please clear paper jam on the back of the printer. Service Tag: CC4Q7C1.'' Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Thank you for your response. I do not know how to remove the fuser, so I have not tried that.

I did turn off and then on with the fuser door closed. That did not move the paper at all, that I could see.

Have you tried to remove the fuser and remove the paper? Have you turned the printer off and then on with the fuser door closed? the cycling of the printer when it turns on should move the paper at least partially through..

THERE, I FIXED IT:

I put a piece of card-stock into the regular paper tray. Then I turned it off and then on again, which tricks it into trying to run the topmost piece of paper (in this case, the card-stock) through the feeder. The card-stock was heavy enough to push the crinkly paper out.

Please double check if all doors, including the paper tray cover, are firmly (repeat FIRMLY !) closed. Seemingly all such are designed as precautionary measures for safe operation.

Dell 1320c printer jam

Your paper is probably stuck in the fuser. Open the front, top of printer. There are two blue tabs on either side. You have to remove the fuser and gently pry the paper with your fingers. It's probably crunched up like an accordian. Don't use any implements and don't touch the fuser. GENTLY is the key here.
This probably happened because the paper was too thick or you were printer a full page of ink and the paper got sticky.

Paper jam. Sheet printed but didn't pass through the rollers

Hi,
  • Remove the paper tray completely by pulling it out towards you.
  • Now pull the jammed/stuck paper out gently.
  • If you cannot remove the paper by the above procedures, open the printers front cover to access the cartridges assembly.
  • Pull the cartridges assembly gently and slowly. This will come out together with the jammed paper.
  • If jam not cleared, open the back cover and pull the tab outwards to access the fuser unit.Remove the stuck papers here.

  • Hope this helps.Thanks!

My Dell MFP 1815dn has a paper Jam 2. I removed the toner cartridge and pulled the paper out, before I realized that I needed to open the back. I believe I thought I got the paper out, but the printer is...

After a paper jam occurs in the rear cover of a Dell Laser Multi-Function Printer 1815N, the printer will not resume when the jammed paper is removed. This is the normal behavior of the printer as there is no sensor on the rear cover of this printer.

To open the back cover and remove any stuck paper, perform the following steps:
  1. Open and close the front cover.
The jammed paper may automatically exit the printer. If the paper does not exit, go to the next step.
  2. Gently pull the paper out of the output tray.
  3. If you cannot see the paper in the output tray or the paper does not move when pulled, open the rear cover.
  4. Skip to step 9. If you do not see the paper, go to the next step.If you see the jammed paper, push the two blue pressure levers up and remove the paper.
  5. Release the blue strap, the rear cover stopper, and fully open the rear cover.
  6. Unfold the duplex guide fully.
  7. While pushing the fuser lever to the right, open the fuser door. NOTICE: Make sure to unfold the duplex guide before opening the fuser door, or the fuser door may be damaged.
  8. Pull the jammed paper out.
  9. Return the levers, fuser door, rear cover stopper, and duplex guide to their original position.
  10. Close the rear cover.
  11. Open and close the front cover.
    Printing automatically resumes.

Paper Jam in fuser on my CP2025. I have opened all drawers and doors and was able to find jam. but a small piece of the paper was torn and inside of the fuser assembly. Any way to open fuser assembly?

The steps to remove the fuser from the printer at quite lengthy and should be avoided if at all possible. Any way you can get to the paper as is? Also be careful when trying to get paper out of the fuser as it is easy to damage either the rubber pressure roller or the telfon coated hot roller. Sometimes small jams will come out if you can get the printer to print a page.

How do you remove a paper jam at the site where the paper exits the printer (causing an accordian-style fold)

Turn off and unplug the machine you can open the front door open the exit side where the paper exits out gently remove paper the issue is caused by the upper fuser claws on the fuser unit they are worn you will need to replace them or replace the fuser unit assembly as other internal parts in the fuser may also be worn like the rollers
This should be done by a trained certified engineer

WHEN YOU TURN OF MACHINE MAKE SURE TO OPEN DOORS AND WAIT A FEW HOURS SO THE FUSER AREA CAN COOL DOWN CAUTION THE FUSER AREA IS VERY HOT

What does the "heart beat" symbol/light mean?

I assume you mean the symbol that has a pair blackened circles and then a pulse up and then down below the starting line before returning to the starting line.

That is the paper jam symbol. If the continue light is on (steady) and the paper jam light is on, then you have a paper jam. Press Continue twice to see any secondary error message (this will show where the problem is).

See the manual for the list of the lights that show where the jam is occurring. Different groups of lights will be lit. The manual is available as a PDF at the bottom of this page: http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN . An example: if the Continue, Toner Low and Paper Jam are all on, then the jam is in the fuser area under the print cartridge assembly. For a paper jam, even a small corner of torn paper could be in the mechanism.

In all cases, you should check the entire paper path. When you pull out any paper, grip it so that you can gently pull the sheet straight out. Remove all paper from the output tray. Then remove the paper tray if you are using it. Pull any paper from this area. Press down on the green duplex flap and remove any paper from there Reinsert the paper tray. Open the front door of the printer and remove the print cartridge assembly. Lift the green flap and remove any paper from the area. NOTE: the fuser and the fuser area may be hot. Open the rear exit door and remove any paper from that area. Use a flashlight to check for small pieces of paper that may be stuck. Once all the paper is removed, reinstall the print cartridge assembly and close all the doors. Press Continue to reset the printer.

The page that jammed may be reprinted.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(please note that frequent paper jams may be a sign of excess humidity in the paper. Put less paper in the tray at each refill and keep the remaining paper in a dry location. If the paper jam light is coming on when no paper jam is present, one or more of the paper jam sensors may be bad. Contact Lexmark for more information.)

PRINTER MAKSE A CHURNING NOISE

Do a half self test. To do this print anything and open the cartridge door when paper feeds into the printer but before it reaches the fuser. This will tell you if problem is with toner or fuser. In order to check the fuser remove toner, in back of printer you'll see a cover held in by 2 screws. remove screws and gently pry cover enough that you can shine flashlight and see the fuser film. If torn replace fuser.
