Sometimes the TV comes on and works fine with no problems for weeks, other times it will not come on at all, not even a click when pressing the on/off button. Strange but seems to work ok in hot humid wheather and not in cool dry wheather. Maybe a short?

Hope you r doing fine
I know, its very frustrating when u pay money and dont get the service,
long back evn i faced the similar type of problem in my TV, the problem was i used to switch on my TV and it used to take 20 mins for the display.
Solution: It cant be repaired by you have to Call your mechanic and show the picture tube of ur TV.

My Sony 52" LCD kdlw3000 tv, which is almost 2 years old, went to standby mode after our power had been off for two days due to a storm. TV worked fine before we lost power and it's plugged into a surge...

Just as our modern sets can remember user settings when the AC goes off, they well may record error conditions for an extended length of time too just as our cars do. Flash memory (used in such applications and only type used in digital cameras for example) can keep information for a very long time. Even if not used in your set, there is surely backup provisions that can keep info handy for days and possibly weeks by using components that mimic batteries to retain even standard memory for weeks.
Most PCs have provisions for discharging this kind of circuit which then resets possible stored error conditions and returns stored values to factory conditions.
Feel lucky this time I'd say.

Lg flatron w2234s monitor is flashing ??

I am going to suggest if it's only 3 months old you should take it back to where you bought it. Mine quit working right a few weeks after I bought it and they gave me a new one. Be sure you take your receipt with you. Even new things can mess up.

Sharp Aquos not always starting up immediately when powering on??

I had the same exact thing happen. I think it's related to a failed firmware update attempt after reading a post on the AVS forum of a guy who also had this problem on this TV. What I did is plug back in the USB drive with the firmware update on it that I had used earlier, and the TV started right up.
