Question about Roper REX4634KQ Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Dryer won't start

I have a roper electric dryer and it won't start. I read a bunch of posts on here about the problem and ahve cleaned the vent and changed the thermal fuse and it still won't start. I know electricity is getting to the dryer because when I set the time I get that "ticking" noise, but when I press the start button nothing happens. what's my next move?

IT SOUNDS TO ME AS IF YOU HAVE A BAD DOOR SWITCH. YOU CAN TRY JUMPING THE SWITCH OUT TEMPORARILY JUST TO SEE IF THE UNIT RUNS.

Roper dryer stopped working during cycle REX6634RQO

replace your t-fuse again but also chekc to see if the vent going outside is restricted. if hte vent is smashed or clogged the heat has nowhere to go. i would say that is your issue. clean your vent before you change he t-fuse.

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

The vent may be stopped up, or the vent hose crimped so the air cannot escape, you can check the air flow at the vent on the outside of the house while the dryer is running.
try cleaning the vent and the lint screen with a vacuum cleaner, you may need to replace the vent hose, this should solve the problem

Roper dryer will not start it is electric

The thermal fuse is probably open again, This condition is caused by restricted air flow out the vent system. Replace thermal fuse again and clean the vent hose and vent hood outside

Not drying

I know you cleaned the lint vent but your vent hose is clogged or damaged and there is no air exchange thru the dryer Air can only hold 100% humidity. You could dry your clothes for 10 hours but the air in the dryer is saturated with water and can not hold anymore so your clothes wont dry. Check behind your dryer and Ill bet the vent line is damaged. The problem is the air is not getting out of the dryer. Check the flapper at the end of the vent line. With the dryer running go to the end of the vent hose and there will be no air coming thru.

Roper dryer

if you are sure vent is ok ..did you try a load with vent disconnected??...there is a chance there is something blocking air flow in lint screen/blower housing ..remove the 2 screws under filter remove all back screws remove 4 screws holding blower housing in place ..you then can pull complete housing out back
