If you already have an 80GB installed, more than likely you can go as big as you want. There used to be a restriction because of the data built into OS's and hardware, but no more.

What is the largest hard drive supported by toshiba p25 s507

The specs say that you have a 60Gb. hard drive. If the unit is less than 2 years old, you should be able to install a 200-300 GB. hard drive without any issues. The older laptops have a 137 GB. limit on hard drive partition space. You still can put a larger capacity drive, but you will have to partition the drive into c: 137GB, then the second partition can be any size.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

I have a 20 gb ssd and the computer will use only 4 gb.

You may find these comments interesting.

Pros: Great weight and shape. Boots up surprisingly fast.
Cons: The 12GB 901 has two 4GB and 8GB hard drives. The XP operating system is installed on the 4GB drive. As a result, as soon as Windows updates, the C: drive fills up and you get low space warnings for the C: drive, and the drive becomes sluggish.

This computer was the perfect size and weight for me. But I have reluctantly decided to return this to Costco becuase of the small 4GB C: drive filling up when windows is updated. I recommend that the operating system be put on the 8GB drive, or better yet, install a single 12GB drive.

Hi i m hems i m upgrading hard disk on my ( acer aspire 1641nwlmi ) laptop hard disk is 160 gb but it's not detecting my new hard disk , my new hard is ok but i have quistion 160 gb is supporting my laptop...

The Aspire 1641 is supplied with a 80Gb hard drive. If the new 160Gb hard drive is not detected in the BIOS then the BIOS cannot support this size hard drive.
Check your manual/specification to see the maximum size hard drive it can support.
You can install the 160Gb hard drive in an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive.

I want to upgrade a 80gb to 500gb for a dell inspiron 9400.I used norton ghost to clon it and it reduced the size of the new Hd to 80gb as the original. I tried acronis with the same result. How can I solve...

I"ll give you a fast response one way. Most extreme also is to put your os disk back in the drive which will completely empty the drive. Make sure you have drivers in a convienent location.

You can't reduce a hard drive so I suspect the norton ghost clone is 80 gb on one area of the hard drive while the other 420 is unused. Press the function keys to go into the bios or check the computer: click start /computer /right click drive and properties to see how hard drive is being used.

Bigger hdd for sony vaio pcg-f309

You can use 20/40 Gb hard drives. the BIOS may be too old to support the 60/80Gb hard drive.
The only problem is, that it is impossible to purchase new hard drives of these capacities, the smallest capacity available now are 120Gb and larger.
You may be able to get 2nd hand drivers, but you won't not know how long they will work until they fail, probably doesn't matter, they should be cheap.

Internal Hard Disk Upgrade

Yes, there is. Match the type of drive (Serial ATA or Parallel ATA) you get with what you have. Make sure your Satellite sees the drive in the BIOS. For drives larger than 120 GB, recommend operating systems Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or higher) or Vista. Older OS's have a 137 GB limitation (they only see the first 137 GB of the hard drive despite its size).

Larger HD

Hi,

Most hard drives of any brand would fit inside your laptop. The size is likewise "free for all". Though the rule of thumb would be "go next size higher" making a 120 Gb a logical choice. There is nothing stopping you thou in installing a 250 Gb or higher.

Good luck and kind regards.
