Question about HP Deskjet 3845 InkJet Printer

Mechanism error The first error said the printer doesn't move. The fix was turn the printer off and turn it back on. The printer jammed after each page printed. I then took the printer cartriges out and put them back in that seemed to fix the problem yesterday, now this morning the printer is doing the smae again but this time the power button just keeps blinking. It also said there was a paper jam, yet no paper is the machine. I've had the printer for 3 years but only rarily use it. Seems to be a worthless peice of doo doo. I have the same problem. After changing cartridges, I got the "Mechanism Error" message. I took it apart, used compressed air everyplace I could find, put the old cartridge back in, and still the light only blinks. Does anyone know anything more?

Hi

Please turn off your printer open the cover and then move the carriage on the extreme left side and look for any paper jams/paper pieces on extreme left/right side of the printer.

With many Canon printers, the 6A00 error means that there is a jam in the print head carriage mechanism or an associated part of the printer mechanism. (The culprit can be ink that got sticky on the cleaning tab in the home area.)

Turn off the printer and open the unit as if going to change the ink cartridges. Look for any scraps of paper (or other foreign objects) in the unit near the carriage path. Try to move the ink cartridge/print head over to the opposite side of the printer. Remove any paper scraps in the printer. Use a flashlight to help you spot any foreign objects that need to be removed. Try cleaning the base pad (where the print head stops when the printer is idle) with isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip. Make sure that it is in the proper location - it should snap into place when you touch it if it isn't broken. With a pencil, try adjusting the right side arm on the transparent guide (move it down and back) in case that has jammed.

Slide the print head assembly back to the right. Close the lid and turn the printer back on. Can you hear the print head assembly moving? If the jam hasn't been resolved, check again for foreign objects. If these steps don't help, this may a printer failure that will require service or replacement of the printer. If it is under warranty, contact Canon. Otherwise, decide if the cost of diagnosing and then fixing the problem will be worth it for you. The diagnosis will be at least $50.

I hope this helps.

Error Code 6A00, printer not working MP830

Move you ink heads out of the way and look inside, you will see the waste ink sponges and a little white plastic flap that may be jammed in position, wiggle it a little to free it and then continue to move it to make sure its free. This should solve it for you.

Error light on stylus c62- printer makes loud buzzing

It sounds like the print head is jamming on the parking mechanism (usually because the actuation lever is stuck in the up position). Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves, pull the power cord out of the back. You should now be able to move the print head over to the left by hand out of the way. Now look in the "parking bay" at the right end where the print head parks itself and see if there is a plastic arm sticking up. If there is, gently pull it towards you and it should spring down. Now turn the printer back on and it should operate normally. If it happens again, repeat the process a few times to see if it clears the problem. Otherwise it means the parking mechanism is gummed up with dried ink and needs a good clean (see below).

If you see that the whole parking mechanism itself has moved up to block the way, this means a spring has come off. To get this back on again requires the printer to be dismantled - as does the cleaning job above!

My Cannon Mx850 Printer has an error code of 6A00 what should I do?

I had the same problem after a paper jam. I removed all the paper and still had a same error. I read around the internet and ran into other Canon printers with similar problems. The error is caused by the print clean mechanism getting stuck. The suggested solution for other Canon printers also worked allowing me to fix my printer. First thing I did was turn off my printer. Second is to open the top cover allowing me access to the print cartridge area. With the power off, you can pull the printer cartridge carridge from the right of the printer to the left. Once you do that, look into the area in the right where the print carridge was and you will see two sponges in the bottom of the printer. Behind them to the left is a little mechanism that moves over the to clean them, I gently gave it a pull and it moved a little forward. I closed the printer and turned it back on. Error went away and it's working fine again.

Hope this helps!

Very Noisy when Printer initializing - Cover Open Light on

BAD news - this combo of lights indicates 'fatal error' - usually fixed by power-off then power on - if it repeats then there is a mechanical error with the printhead transport mechanism probably jammed by foreign object or broken part - only solved by opening up - unless you are confident about your fixit skills, then best solved by a qualified service technician - the printer is too valuable to poke a screwdriver into at random.

Printer malfunction

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Carriage Jam error always - how do I fix it?

Try resetting the printer (pressing the cancel button and connecting the power supply, check in the HP website if this is correct for your printer model) , after the reset the printer will clear any errors and will recalibrate the mechanism including the paper feed mechanism and the carriage.
Also check if the carriage is moving freely by disconnecting the power and moving it by hand.
