Question about Salter 9007 Glass Lithium Digital Scale
Tapping the platform doesn't activate the scale. It could be activated if battery is reinstalled.
REPAIRING DIGITAL DISPLAY SCALE -- SALTER BRAND WITH ERROR MESSAGE, AND EVENTUALLY NO DISPLAY AT ALL
I managed to fix a Salter digital display bathroom scale I had bought for my mom by removing dust from the area that turns it on -- the design fit perfectly with her decor so she didn`t want it replaced with a different style.
MODEL: It was model 910 but I imagine the fix will work with other similar models.
PROBLEM: The scale had been working only occasionally for many weeks and was hard to turn on -- my mom said it no longer made the little click sound when she pressed it with her foot to turn it on. Finally it gave an error display and stopped working entirely with no display at all -- not even the dashes to indicate it was getting any power from the battery.
SOLUTION: When changing the battery and cleaning out its compartment failed, I suspected that maybe dust had gotten into another area -- the part that turns it on -- on this scale they`re little silver discs under the glass that press into the base (the dust would explain the lack of the usual metallic click sound and the lack of contact to switch it on). The area is not very accessible, so I used a high power vacuum with crevice attachment in my left hand, while loosening the dust with a duster/paintbrush in my right. The trick was to find the right duster and then work both tools around each disc coming at the same point from different angles. The first time I used a small duster with man-made materials (not feathers) and tried to push it into the crevice so that at least some bristles turned the corner down into the base -- the vacuum was strong enough to pull any loose dust out. This first cleaning went well enough to get the display back on when I tried it -- back to the error message anyway, but I knew I was on the right track. The second time I used a skinny fine detail number 1 paint brush (similar to the ones in a child`s paint set) to loosen the dirt while using the vacuum -- I pushed horizontally in toward the disc, and then twirled it back and forth so that the bristles splayed and the lower half of them curved down into the crevice. This worked well and afterwards the scale turned on and went to 00 and read my weight. A third cleaning with the vacuum and paint brush even brought back the little "click" sound and my mom says that since fixing it the scale works better now than it has in a couple years.
Hope this repair works for you. All in all it took less time than it would to find contact info to call/e-mail for a return/replacement, wrap/box/label it, and take it to the post office -- not to mention saving shipping charges.

Try stepping off the scale when you get an error message wait 5-10 secs then step back on, remember to stand still when the scale is giving a reading

Put scale in round file can. Buy another cheap scale.

Testimonial: "The new scale works great and was on sale at Wal-mart for only $29."
I had the same problem with the error message coming up and emailed Tanita. The regional representative contacted me by email. He had me check with new batteries and clean the contacts. Then he cross-referenced my model and lot numbers and said that my scale was still under warranty and if it met the warranty criteria would be replaced. Tanita has a 10 year warranty on this scale and my scale was 5 years old. He gave me an RMA# to submit with my receipt and about 10 days later I had my replacement scale!! Fantastic Customer Service! Thank you Tanita!!!

No - if you
sleep a lot more on the weekend, it's a sign that you have a sleep debt and
your body is trying to get more sleep than usual. But it doesn't help your body
to feel less tired. You need to spread out your sleeping over the whole week
and not try and cram it all into one night.

Sleep is one
of the fundamental parts of a healthy lifestyle, just like eating and
exercising. We need a basic amount of sleep to function but lack of sleep can
affect many things from relationships to quality of life. So if you are having
trouble sleeping, it's really worth speaking to someone about it.
