Yes, it is a Canon PowerShot A95.

  • suzanne419 Mar 08, 2009

No, I am absolutely happy with free repair from Canon. They replied promptly to my service request. I suppose I just misunderstood what the different ratings meant. Sorry.

  • suzanne419 Mar 08, 2009

    Sure, I understand. Thanks.

    Dear Canon team,

I have exactly the same problem as reported here. I live in the UK (Newcastle Upon Tyne) and I bought my camera in the United States about 4 years and 3 months ago (Dec04 / Jan05).

The problem started now, about 2 months ago: when I take a picture the results look like a striated picture, leaving stripes in the display of

    the picture.

    Can you help me please?

    Many thanks and kind regards,

    Cristina Almeida.

Camera makes overexposed pictures wiht lines can this be a software problem ?

Nope, this is a hardware problem and the camera needs to be worked on. Notice how your display works fine but the finished product exhibits the anomaly. The recording end is messed up.

Not working

If the stripe is only on the display, it could be it or the connections to the display, or only one switching transistor is defect.
If you don't see the line on the picture, when you zoom in, or when reviewed on a computer, you sensor is o.k.
If the camera is brand new, return it to the shop. If you don't have warranty anymore, try to live with it, when it is just a stripe on the display.

Screen has a white stripe down the left hand side

Displays, sometimes get some damage, because something hit the camera, or when the camera falls. If it is a white line, and you don't see it back in the pictures you took, try to live with it. Replacing a display, most of the time is more expensive then buying a new camera.

When I take a picture the results look like a striated picture, leaving stripes in the display and then in the picture.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Dropped my casio exilim ex-z85a camera and now when I take pictures, there are light horizontal striped lines running through the entire image

By dropping the camera you have caused some shock damage to the LED display so you will no doubt have get it repaired.
Saying that, if you copy the pictures to a computer you may find that the pictures are fine.

Stripes across viewing screen

almost sure this is cause by flex circuit in the zoon lens that is damaged and need to be replaced. Almost always the problem of stripes in the picture is worst when you take pictures in full zoom mode because in this position of the lens the flex circuitis is fully streched. Thats all folks
