Re: timex watch cover replacment
Align the caseback exactly as it was before you opened it. Make sure thet the groove for stem is in correct position. Lay the napkin on the flat table surface, put the watch on it (dial down) and using both hands and your body weight push the caseback down back in place. Remember: the side of the caseback wich first came out must be last pushed in. Do not use very soft napkin (towel) as this can brake the glass under the pressure. If all above described DO NOT work, then there is not enough power in your hands or not enough weight in your body and you will need watchmakers help (he/she will be using special watch press to close the watch). P.S. Do not get upset if you can not close it; I'm very expierenced watchmaker and very often came across the watches wich I was not able to close without the watch press (even my arms are quite strong and the weight is 95kg).

Hi, You may know that this watch runs on two batteries, one
for digital display and another for analog hands. If the analog hands
stop working all you need to do is to replace the battery and please replace both at the same time since the band and cover take some effort
to remove. You need to take off the both bands first to access the back side than the back cover with a small knife.. Just in case,if you need the user manual here is the link. Timex watch: http://www.timex.com/info/Product_Instruction_Guides_Downloads . Take care.. Regards
mcdevito75 here, I just took a peak into my own Older Timex watch, even though it"s a ladies the model number was on the movement itself and only a 3 digit number. Since the older Timex watches were mass produced this is all you may have as far as serial numbers go, and Timex did all their own watches so a serial number may only be 3--4--5 digits long. Anyway, double check the entire watch with a magnifier glass for the serial number, then check inside the back cover and movement itself. Here is Timex contact info, 800-448-4639 if needed.
mcdevito75 here, Your Timex may have 4 small screws holding the back onto the watch, if so you"ll need jewelers screwdrivers available on ebay to open the back of your Timex, however this is rare with timex, look for a small tab or a cutout on the back cover that matched the same in the case, if you need to use a magnifier glass available at most Dollar stores or drugstores. Once you find this tab / cutout, use a steak knife under that tab or in that cutout and pry the back cover off the watch, Be firm with the prying but at the same time use care not to hurt your watch or hand.
mcdevito75 here, Your Timex watch back cover should have a cutout in the back cover for the stem (winder) make sure this cutout is lined up with the stem the stem lies in this cutout, once you have it lined up, lay the watch down, crystal (glass up on a sturdy surface, Table, counter top etc. Now, with your palm and even, even pressure on the crystal (glass) simply press down, you"ll hare it click shut. Don"t force anything and if you still can"t get your watch back cover on, look for a small watch repair shop in your arear. It may take a special pair of pliers to get the cover on. Most Timex back covers are kind of hard to get back on.
mcdevito75 here, Look for any indentations on the back cover and case that should be linned up, as an example, a cutout on the cover for the stem, after the cover is linned up place the watch on a sturdy surface crystal up (glass) and with the palm of your hand apply even down pressure to close the back. If you can"t look for a small watch repair shop, they will close the back cover for you.
Try removing the rubber washer or the black band on the cover then try snapping it back on. I removed the washer and placed it on the back of the watch before I placed the cover on and it just snapped back on.
Remove the four screws that hold the battery cover on the back of the watch. Remove the 3 very small screws that hold the battery in place. Remove the battery from the battery holder. The piece that the 3 small screws were removed from seperates from the 3 volt 2016 energizer battery. Replace the battery with a new one. Re-install the battery holder to the watch. There is a small tab on the lower left part of the battery holder that needs to be depressed to activate the watch. Depress it and look at the face of the watch to make sure it is activated. The watch will need to have the time, date etc reset but you should now be able to see that the battery is working. Replace the battery cover and reset the time and date as needed.
