SOURCE: need to replace chain on 450s mcculloch chain saw

You might want to purchase a combination set with a new bar and chain, if so, Oregon #108764 is the 16" length set.

If you only want either a chain or bar, then the following are the correct ones for your chainsaw:

Chain 16" @ 3/8" pitch = #91VX054G (low profile, semi-chisel)

Bar 16" = Oregon #160SDEA318 (w adjustable chain tensioner)
Bar 16" = Oregon #160SDET318 (no adjustable bar slot for use on chainsaw originally equipped with the Intenz bar only)

Hope you find this very helpful and best regards!

Oil is not getting to the chain with a stihl 012av chainsaw.

I'm almost sure you have to remove the oil tank and then the oiler

Hello slehman629,

Take off the chain and bar and you can clean out the oilier tube with a piece of wire or a dull drill bit a small screw might work.It is just saw dust that gets packed in there. Thank you for using fix ya.

Attempting to replace fuel filter on a MCC1635AK Chain Saw. Lifting the filter out of the tank with bent wire per the manual, I came up with the end of a tube. The filter is still there, and fastened,...

The second tube in the tank is just a return from the primer, there should be nothing on the end, and it does not attach to anything, just replace the filter on the end of the fuel hose, and leave the other hose alone.

Mcculloch start with choke will run when choke in will not run when use throttle wont pick up

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

When I top up the chain oil it runs out of the opposite side really rapidly, I don't see how to fill it in the instruction booklet

Are you using bar oil? Is it less than 2 years old (warranted)? Did the chain come off and hit the tank?
I think your saw may have been impacted and the oil tank is broken. I didn't see an oil vent on the IPL but if the filler is on the bottom of the saw and you must lay it on its side to fill there must be one. Take it and your bar oil with you and stop by your friendly neighborhood Husky dealer. Ask what they think the problem might be. You might be pleasantly surprised. Purchase some 2 cycle oil, a new chain, some bar oil, something. When time for a new saw remember how they treated you.
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

My husqavara saw wont oil tthe chain .. what should i do

Oil System Plugged.
Remove the clutch cover, bar and chain. Clean the oiler hole and channel. Start the saw and see if it oils when revved up. If yes reassemble your saw.
If no a blunted, hooked piece of wire can be used to pull the hose in the oil tank out. I recommend the filter be replaced. Work your way through the linkage cleaning and replacing any defective parts as you go. Carefully check the hoses for cracks especially at bends and connections. If equipped with an oil pump it is usually behind the clutch (clutch is probably left handed thread). Please make extensive notes & some digital pictures will help during reassembly. GL

Blocked chain oil feed tube on chain saw

Drain out all the oil. You will have to have a air compressor or find some one who does. With a rag to help cover the fill hole pressure the oil chamber and push the oil valve open and try to blow out the clog.

McCulloch Pro Mac 610 replacement chain

The McCulloch ProMac 600 series (610/650) doesn't recommend a saw chain replacement part because you can get differently-sized bars for it. This one came with a 20" bar.
According to an search tonight, the Oregon company makes a replacement part stock number D70. I have got an Oregon H78 replacement chain at my hardware store and it's a hair too small. Not all 20" saw chains are created equal!!
