I have a Dometic fridge with cooling issues.

There are two wires "inside" my Dometic RV fridge model RM2804.
One from the behind the light bulb housing and one from behind the control knobs of the electric/gas thermostat setting housing.
They both run up to the fins in the upper back inside of the fridge...problem...if they get bumped the fridge/freezer stops cooling, so I have to jiggle them around and wait a couple of hours to see if I made it work or made it worse.
I have taken the cover off around the control knobs, but it is so basic that I don't know what could be the problem or what to do.
Any ideas?
What is the wire from behind the light for?
This does it on gas or electric.
I live in my RV and I am tired of having to throw out food that has gon bad.
Thanks for any input.

Refridgertor is not cooling dometic rm2804

If the fridge is level and the rear coils of the cooling unit get warm and the fridge does not cool then you require a replacement cooling unit. Yours has leaked. Contact ArctiCold Refrigeration We keep it cold Online store: http://www.rvfridgerepair.com/ 60f363ae-5e9d-402e-98c8-b8fed71c2461.jpg

Hi...recently purchased a 2005 Roadtrek RV with a Dometic RM 2354 fridge in it...was getting things ready for camping and had the RV hooked up to 110 power...pushed on button for fridge and went through...

You said there was NO lights on the unit. The Dometic service manual says:

1. No operation - no panel lights: DC Volts

Fuse

Wiring

Upper Circuit Board

Lower Circuit Board

I would start with the DC volatage and track it back until you lose it. Most of the time it does end up being the lower circuit board though.

Dometic refrigerator Model # rm2610

Well first of all solution # 1 pertains to household refridgerators..RV models have no fan inside maybe outside,But I would find out if it gets cold/freezes with 120 volt and or LP(propane) and look trrough the internet and download your model service manual.

I have a Dometic RV airconditioner roof mounted, the model number shown on a tag inside the unit says it is Model CAL 136.312 Product Number 991650423, I cannot find this model in the Dometic catalogue is...

Your probably looking at the control module number or something in that area. When you have the ceiling assy off as in cleaning filters, look for a sticker directly on the base of the roof unit. Look all around on that base, even behind wiring harness, you should find a model number and serial number.

Work on gas but not on eletricity

More than likely the AC (hydro) element is defective. Take a multimeter and carefully test for 120vac at the 2 spade connectors that the element plugs into on your circuit board. If your getting 120vac, then element is probably shot. ( element can be removed by lifting and twisting it up and out of sleeve along side of stack) be sure it's cool to touch. You may also have to remove, or reposition metal flap over it prior to removing. Make sure when testing for voltage at spade connectors, that fridge is calling for cool.

Our rv has a dometic rm2600 fridge that smells of ammonia inside and has a little bit of yellow residue in behind service panel. is the fridge wrecked or is it worth repairing. the rv is 27 years old.

Hi,
Sorry to give you the bad news. The ammonia smell is the the refrigerant
leaking out. Dometic uses ammonia that is heated and then condensed to cool. It will all leak out and quit cooling.
The fridge is wrecked. There are shops that rebuild the units. Beings as ammonia is corrosive one must assume there may be other leaks ready to appear. There are RV salvage yards that sell good used units.
Again Sorry for your loss.
