Call a repair person and have it fixed at home for about $200, the repair of vertical deflection faults cannot be done by the home user.

The average cost of repair for issues like this is about $400-600, why because Mitsubishi charges an arm and a leg for parts, also they only sell complete circuit boards, get a new LCD HDTV, u will be amazed at the picture.

Unless you are a TV repair person you can't fix it yourself. Expect about $150 plus parts if you call the repair person to your home.

You need to replace the vertical Ic on the main board.

First try to adjust the Vertical Hold by :

    1. TV turned on
    2. Press 'Menu' then '2' then '3' then '5' then '7'.(or 1,2,5,7)
NEVER SELECT ANY RESET:Doing so will erase all Data and ruin your week!
    3. Press 'Audio' for the category.
    4. Press 'Adjust up and down' to change the data.
    5. Press 'Enter' to save the data when finished.
    6. When you have made all the adjustments you want press 'Menu' twice.

There may be a loss of the synch pulse coming off the separator circuit which pulls it off the pedestal signal from the cable company. Sometimes the cable company has a weak vertical synch pulse and the set can't quite lock in on it. So, you may want to check with the cable company as well.If not, then the issue is with the Vertical Circuit and you will need a service tech who can look at it.

    Please revert for any clarifications.

    Thanks

    Rylee

Continuous vertical roll on tv

Wow 5 months without a solution. NOT GOOD.. Well I hope I can help...
This sounds like a vertical hold problem, and is normally easy to fix.... There should be a couple of nob's on the lower back of the TV. One for vertical and one for Horizontal hold. You need to find the vertical hold nob and adjust it, until the rolling stops and stabilizes. If however these nob's are not visible you will have to take TV to an engineer to fix it.
Hope this helps..

Good Day;

Shutdown at Power Causes: Cause #1 This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Vertical hold adjustment

Loss of vertical sync or any other problem with your Mits is
likely caused by bad power supply capacitors....they are made by Rubicon and are notorious "leakers"......very tedious and
expensive to fix...................good set back in the day.......T.

If found defective replace only the transistor instead of the Main PCB.

Horizontal roll on mitusbishi 35" tv

is this a horizontal black line going up or down? if yes, this sympton is caused by a trouble in the integrated circuit or in the vertical oscillator circuit. this symptons has 2 variations. one is the intermittent rolling of the picture. this referred to as the "loose vertical hold" the other variations is the continuous upward or downward rolling of the picture
