Question about JVC GM P420 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television
HI, I have a JVC 24" Plasma model VM-42WV74 that will not power on. This plasma uses a separate receiver for inputs. I do have the receiver but I am missing the cable that goes from the receiver to the display. Does anybody know if this model plasma requires the cable in order to operate (power on).

I had the same problem with a JVC VM-42X795. The repair man said a wire in the monitor is probably borken that provides power for that enire row. I stared with one bad row, but ow I have two.

horizontal line is an idication of a bad board known as a x driver board. Their may be a slight possiblitliy it can be a small ribbion cable that runs from the driver board to the plasma panel. Another possiblility it can be a bad panel... but from the symptoms you describe i would first have to look at that driver board. and the sympton that getting worse makes me lean toward a bad ribbion cable.. if that could be reseated....well that the first thing as a technician i would try. Carefull Television generate dangerous voltages.
