Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

Starting up the shuting right down

I have an Hp Pavilon zv6000 and when it starts up it goes to the loading screen starts to load and then stops and shuts down.any ideas on what i need to do?

    It is when it says loading your personal settings. It loads all the way to the admin pasword screen i hit enter and it says loading your personal settings the screen goes like it is going to load then says shutting down and starts all over again

    safe mode also does not work it does the same thing

    The only antivirus that i have has been the same and has not changed

    yes this is windows xp only problem is during my last move i lost my disks

    When starting in safe mode does it have multiple profiles listed, if so do they all do the same thing?

    Is this the windows loading screen? Did the problem just start?

The only options is seems at this point would be to install a fresh copy of windows or you could reinstall windows over itself if you didn't want to loose your data. Is this windows XP?

    You could try to borrow an XP cd from someone, or you could try to get them from HP but they would probably charge you. There is a way to fix the XP startup but you would still need the XP cd to do it.

Viral infection is most likely the cause. Did you either recently install or update an antivirus program, or use one of those "remote fix your computer" services? Can you take the computer to safe mode?

    This is a relatively new viral infection going around that locks you out of your profile. As yet there is no effective cure. So far, removing the infected hard drive, connecting it in a drive enclosure and connecting that to a clean antivirus protected computer is the only way to retrieve your data. I will keep researching this and hope a solution can be found...

You need to press F8 on start up and choose "safe mode" this will stop some drivers from loading, which should enable you to get into your pc and see what the problem is.

its sounds as if its looking for its windows bootup.

Hi i have just got a new Pavilion DV7 only a few weeks old on boot/start up it starts then goes off several times before it starts to load windows the fan starts and the lights come on then goes off...
Run CHKDSK/F to check for errors. There may be an error on the hard drive.
Closing the lid when closing down, puts it in sleep mode and it will restart much easier but the error should be removed.

HP Pavilion zv6000 cycles through POST over and over. After Realtek LAN controller is loaded I get ''PXR-61 Media test fail, check cable & PXE-M0F exiting PXE ROM and then it cycles back and starts...
You have your Lan Boot ROM loading.
Enter your BIOS and set to default.
Save and exit.

Uploading windows vista upgrades command was to restart system for changes to take effect. On restart screen went blue and showed Tech info *** STOP: 0x0000C1F5 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x000000000,...
Press F8 continuously while starting the computer. When black screen appears eventually (right before Windows loads), choose Last Known Good Configuration.

what i can help this...
you select safe mode and remove video driver and reboot your laptop...if it inside the windows normally,try to remove some unused toolbar in add and remove programs..and check also for virus scan..and reboot computer..

Frozen screen
try to log in safe mode when the laptop is booting by pressing F8 key, you will see many option select boot in safe mode, if you can boot in safe mode then reboot normally. if the problem remains then you have to repair or reinstall your operating system.

no its a software problem.....I believe you are using Windows XP. can you tell when it loads or starts to load it stops at the windows loading part only does it go near the boot screen ie; XP loading........like that or straight to blue screen. Ive seen this before its not a hardware its a software. Have you got the installation disk XP if so.....insert it in the CDrom and start the machine up from scratch. Allow windos to go through the rig ma role of installation until it cant go no further. Press "R" for console go to the DOS line and type chkdsk /p allow windows to repair the problem when done remove the disk and start up again.....if Im right it should go pass that nagging "loading windows screen"...I hope it works for you, you'll be elated.
