Question about GE DCVH515EFWW Electric Dryer

Open Question

I have a GE electric dryer, Model DCVH515EFOWW the dryer works fine on "Air Fluff" but and motor runs fine. When put to a heating cycle the dryer starts runs for up to 2 to 3 minutes electric dryer element starts to produce heat and the vent is blowing warm air with no restrictions, then it shuts down waits for 2 minutes and starts all over again. The upper thermostat is staying closed, but I don't know what the resistance levels of the thermistors are to check them? Any ideas?

You may have a bad timer: Also, there may be a separate thermal fuse for the motor, usually an inch long white plastic one attached to the blower housing.

SOURCE: Whirlpool duet electric wil not heat

Remove 1 wire from the element . Your 220 V comes from ...110 motor , 110 control board . Check which wire is not getting 110 V , trace it and see which it comes from . That will tell you which one is defective .

SOURCE: GE Dryer Model #DWSR483EB2WW Dryer tumbles,

Does it get hot when you start the dryer, and never gets hot again when its running? The solenoid wire might be opening due to heat, the solenoid is responsible for opening the gas valve, and booster valve. The wire is located in a round plastic sleeve with two electrical contacts sticking out.

Ge front loader dcvh515efoww - dryer shuts off when put on heating cycle

Did you pull the dryer out or forward sounds like you may have pinched the exhaust which restricts air flow exiting the unit this will cause it to heat briefly shut down heat shut down and continue this cycle the fact that it worked before makes me think it something simple it will not tumble in any cycle if door switch not installed correctly.

My kenmore 600 dryer will not heat up, what could be the problem?

No heat problems are caused by several things.
First lets do the easy thing and turn off the Dryer CB by pushing it HARD to off and then back on. Re-test for heat.
Next try different cycles as in Air Fluff, Delicate, regular etc... Air fluff is no heat but see if it heats on other heat temp selections. If you get heat on a different heat selection then the problem is probably an open thermostat. If you still get no heat the most likely suspect is the heating element. If the heating element is fine then your looking at the motor switch or wiring as the problem. Component of last resort to replace is the timer.
At this time I suspect either a high limit thermostat or an open heating element.
Mond you since you did not include your complete model number this response if for an electric dryer. IF your dryer is gas respond with a model number please so I can point to other things that cwill cause a no heat symptom.

Thanks for choosing FixYa, Kelly

you should not have heat when motor stops there is a switch in the motor to shut the element off....yours is not working(you could burn your house)replace the motor.
