ok i thought that, but it was working fine brfore i fixed the bearings, thats what i dont get, and on the spin cycle the motor works fine, its like it loses power when on wash cycle?

Hi dave, Its nothing you have done! It will need the carbon brushes changed in the motor as they have got low. The arcing is caused by the brushes not touching the com properly. Just change them and it will be all good.....

Ok well then if that the case then you might have the wash windings in the motor on there way out! Then you will need to replace the motor! Check the conections on the heater as this can cause a low neutral return on the motor side.

Hotpoint 1200 wd62n banging noise when loaded but ok when its empty ?

There are many reasons that this could be noisy...

When you turn the drum (quickly) when it's empty does it rumble? Bearings, drum support or motor bearings.

If it sounds like a pneumatic drill when filled and spinning it could be drum support, bearings, balance weight or suspension.

These are not an exhaustive list but the usual suspects.

Wont spin

Possible fault with the drive system if the motor is working without any transmission. You need to check for slippages in the drive. It can also be due to bearing problems or the main shaft being stuck in the drum.

Noise when agitateing wash only

Remove the belt, and spin drum by hand from inside, there should be little or no noise, if there is then it is possible the drum bearings are failing.
I f no noise, but there is when you put belt back on, then possibly bearing in motor noisy

Hotpoint WF220P has become very noisy during spin, especially at high revs. Can it be worn brushes or motor, or bearings? Otherwise all is OK.

Remove drive belt, and spin drum by hand, if it feels rough or noisy, then the main drum bearings are worn.
If no noise from drum, could be a motor prob.

Thanks.

Washing machiene drum won't turn

it sounds like you've got an item of clothing jammed between the inner and outer drum

Wt960 drum judders and wont turn smoothly

not enough info but could be one of two things "brushes or bearings" the fits and starts says brushes need changing in the motor. If its bearings put your hand on the top of the drum and lift slightly upwards if there's play in it then it's the bearings

The washer works fine aparts from the drum wont turn at all.

there is a motor speed control board in the back of the washer. if your facing the back of the washer its on the bottom left side. there is a fuse on that board that will stop the motor from running

Washer wont spin belt came off put it back and tested on a spin but then it started making weird noises so we stopped it. turned drum manually but then drum jammed going one way but not the other

two possible causes. first - foreign object stuck between tub and drum. take heater out and you can peer into the gap between tub and drum second - bearings collapsed and im afraid this is the most likely cause. if memory serves me right, hotpoint supply a replacement tub and drum assembly at vast cost. lots of problems with bearings on the wma series
