Ps3 says ip address timed out / wep key was entered incorrect.

Have you tried manually adding a IP to your PS3 ie if your routers ip address is 192.168.1.254 set your PS3 to 192.168.1.60, with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and set the gateway to the IP address of your router in this example it would be 192.168.1.254..

How can i find my wep key code for my router

Follow Step # 1 in this guide here. Look for Security settings somewhere in the router menu and you should be able to find the WEP key under there.
Without information on your model of router, we can't be more specific.
If you are still having problems, follow Step # 10, or even 10.5!

Wont connect to wi fi; I am putting in the correct ssid and correct wep, but it tells me "the attempt to obtain the ip address timed out. The wep key you entered may not be correct." But the WEP is...

This used to happen to me alot when connection was bad due to distance form the router. If your router is far away, find a way to move it closer. Reset the connection settings on the PS3 and do automatic search then just enter the WEP again

EROR CODE 52031 ON NINTENDO WII

Hi,If you’re using WEP or WPA for your router’s security, log into your router by typing its IP address in your internet browser and make sure your WEP or WPA key entered in the Wii matches the key in the wireless router. The WEP Key can only use characters 0-9 and A-F. If your router allows more than one WEP Key to be entered, make sure the key in slot #1 is the active key. The Wii can only use the key in slot 1.If you entered the correct key, then check to see if MAC filtering is enabled in the “access control, access list, or network filter” section of the wireless router. If MAC filtering is enabled, you will need to enter the Wii’s MAC address into the “allowed” list for MAC addresses.
If none of these were the problem and your connection used to work, try power cycling both the router and modem by unplugging both from the wall. Wait a couple of minutes before plugging the modem back in. Wait another couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug the router back in and wait until the router initializes.
Ensure that your wireless router has the latest firmware installed. You will need to go the router manufacturer’s website to download the firmware.
If Wii Error Code 52031 is still a problem, try changing the broadcast channel of the wireless router to 1 or 11. This can help increase download speed.
You an also try manually entering the Wii’s internet settings. You will need to first get the network configurations from your PC.
On your PC, click “Start” and then “Run.”
Type “CMD” into the field that appears to open a new window.
Type “IPCONFIG/ALL” and press “Enter” to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.
Good luck

Wii will not connect to internet keep getting error code.

most likely your wii is not configured properly to your router. If you still need further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you further. Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response. if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you. -Midwest-tek

How do I get my WEP Key for my LINKSYS ROUTER

To access the web-based utility, launch the web browser on

Cant get wifi on my ds even with WEP key

The DS doesn't have the best WiFi signal.

Make sure you are close to your router for one.

Also check the WEP key as it may say the AP (access point) isn't there if the WEP is wrong.

Also some routers won't connect properly to the DS unless the IP,Gateway, and DNS are set manually.

If you choose to set the AP info manualy then you need to find the you AP's IP address.
Commonly this would be 192.168.1.1 however it varies from one brand to another or may be changed manualy.
Try these settins with the corrected IP adress number as the gateway.

IP Adress 192.168.1.152 (this is you'r DS IP adress. The 3rd digit should be the same as you gatway's 3rd digit. The fourth digit can be any number that isn't used on your network.

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Gateway 192.168.1.1

DNS Pri 192.168.1.1
DNS Sec 192.168.1.0
(Usually I set the Gateway and DNS numbers the same and it usually works. The Gateway is the IP address of your wifi router.)

If this fails and all numbers are correct, then it may be that the WiFi router will not work with the DS as some brands simply refuse to work with it for unkown reasons.

Anohter solution is to get a WiFi USB dongle and connect to that.

Connect it to your router with an ethernet cable.
Make sure the router is setup correctly to your modem, if you can connect all your devices by ethernet cable to the internet then it's set.
If you are using a wireless connection and if it asks for the WEP or WPA key, make sure that you are entering the correct encryption key. You may want to call your router manufacturer to know the correct key for the wireless connection. FYI, it will say that the wireless network is connected but it will still fail the IP Address.

If you have a wired connection and the IP Address or DNS failed, I suggest you to call your Internet Service Provider to check for the Internet connection and obtain these (static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, primary DNS server and secondary DNS server). If your Internet is okay, enter the IP settings manually on the console (System > Network Settings > Edit Settings > IP settings).

That should work.
