If these springs are at the bottom you pull the front panel towards you at the top then raise the panel to remove. If they are at the top pull the bottom out and raise the front panel from the bottom. Some models require the top to be raised to clear these springs. If this is a Kenmore or whirlpool dryer TheMobiltian is correct these are springs and you just need a putty knife to push them back.

Take 3 screws out of bottom side of Z shaped metal part on the back of the dryer's top. Stand in front of dryer and use the palms of your hands to sharply push dryer top back about 2 inches and lift top off. Open door and remove screw at 4 and 8 O'Clock position. Remove control panel (ususally 2 screws and a bunch on retaining plastic parts along the top side) and set on top of dryer or unplug electrical plugs and set aside. Remove screws at top of front panel. Unplug light bulb and door switch. Tilt front panel forward and lift off bottom tabs, then unplug moisure sensor wire at bottom, allowing front panel to be set aside. Remove 4 screws at sides of drum support assembly, lift up and off. Release belt, and remove drum. (easier to do if flat metal part originally right behind control panel is removed first) Use belt as a handle and lift drum out of dryer, allowing access to burner assembly. Change burner orfice and regulator blocker. Re-assemble and test.

How to remove the front panel of LG Gas dryer DLGX5102v

first and always disconnect the power, Locate the screws on the bottom lip of the front panel and remove the screws with a screwdriver
Lift the front panel up from the bottom so it disengages from the clips on the top of the panel and tilt it away from the dryer
Unfasten the door switch connector on the back of the front panel, pulling it off the metal prongs by hand and set the front panel out of the way

Mdg9700 need to remove front cover, which does NOT match normal maytag type bottom held by clips not screws, first look is that control panel needs to remove first but if so these are concealed.

The top panel and the control panel need to be removed first before the front panel can be removed. Once the top panel is off, the screws attaching the control panel to the dryer cabinet are exposed. The screws securing the front panel to the dryer cabinet are exposed once the control panel is removed.

Disconnect power and remove the two screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the dryer.

Slide the top panel towards the rear to clear the screw head from the flange at the bottom side of the top panel then lift it from the unit.

How to secure gas dryer bottom panel to old Whirpool dryer

Should be two metal clips on bottom front of dryer that the panel slides onto and two clips on top of front panel that click in.

Here is a pic of the clip that goes on the bottom of the front of dryer in which the panel slides on.

My Maytag dryer has a loose dryer drum baffle. How to i get to it inorder to tighten the screws? Do I remove the top

unplug Dryer, open door, Remove two door hinge screws going into front panel, remove two screws on opposite side. Grab front panel on upper sides and twist and pull front panel out. Panel sits on two clips at bottom so you have to tip panel out to unhook from the bottom. You will see a metal hook with two screws in it that holds down the top of the dryer on each side. Remove the screws and hook bracket. Make sure you note how it reinstalls. Top will now lift up and lean back against a wall. It is hinged in back. You can now easily get to the drum baffle screws. TRYING TO REMOVE FRONT Drum won't turn swallowed sock thru lint trap

The sock is binding in the blower wheel which in turn stops the motor.
Unplug the dryer and turn off the gas supply. Look down at the very bottom of the front panel to find and remove the 2/3 screws across the bottom. Pull the bottom of the front panel out then down to release the clips holding it to the top cover. This will give to access to the other parts to retrieve your sock.

GE dryer is getting louder when running

most common cause is the failure, or wear of the rollers at the rear,
the drive belt places a lot of torque on the drum, and it has rollers to support this force, in addition to nylon guides as the front has

good roller

worn roller

most dryers access from the front, the front panel and door come off,
here are generic removal instructions

with dryer unplugged examine lower front panel.
If there are two screws at lower corners
  • remove screws
  • swing front panel up from bottom
  • unhook top clips
  • undo door switch wires
  • set panel and door aside
If there are no screws
  • remove llint screeen from top
  • remove 2 screws from under lint screen
  • with putty knife or other blunt blade
push spring clips at front top corners
  • tilt top up
  • remove 1 screw each side 1/3 way from top of dryer
  • tilt front panel down
  • undoor door switch wires
  • set front panel aside
Common to both
  • reach under drum to belt tensioner, pull tensioner to end of spring travel
  • unhook belt from motor and tensioner
  • withdraw drum forward
  • examine rollers felts nylon guides
replace rollers in pairs if worn
replace nylon glides if worn
replace felts if worn, the back one may wear before the front one, if the dryer is the open drum type,

Directions to replace gas valve - Kenmore dryer model 41790042990

If you have a 2 piece front panel just pry the bottom part open from the top, right under the door. It will swing down and lay flat. You can remove the gas valve assembly now. It is on the left. If you have a one piece front. remove the lint filter and then the two screws there. Be VERY careful not to drop anything down the hole. (It will ruin the fan.) Pry the top off by using a butter knife or thin screw driver to push in the clips in the front corners. It will swing open from the front. remove the wires from the door switch. Use a 5/16 socket to remove the screws holding the front panel in place. Pull out and up the bottom is held by clips. Be careful not to let the drum fall all the way out. When you reassemble the dryer before you put the top down , turn the drum a full turn to make sure that the felt seal at the back is seated properly.
