I am having problem with my bosch washer draining. In the front there was a panel that had a little tube that you uncapped and drained in to a roasting tin as it was close to the floor. Then I had to twist something to the side which was part of the filter and empty that. I am still trying to unblock the rest of the machine but if it had been say a coin etc then this procedure would have unblocked it. I washed a fluffy blanket in my machine and it has completely gunked it up! Good luck.

Why won't my LG washing machine pump out water?

If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. It's also common for a small sock or other article of clothing to get caught in the drain pump or in the drain hose. Check both for an obstruction before replacing the pump

Frigidaire model fex831fs4 will not drain or spin

My problem was a little different but I want to post this for others that might experience the same.

My Frigidaire Washer/Dryer Stack Combo Model FEX831FS4 was not draining and had a humming/buzzing noise when it got to drain/rinse cycle. This is usually and probably caused by a small sock or thin or small underwear that got sucked out the top and into the drain hose. I have no idea why they did not design this with a rubber flap like most washers to protect from items going up and out but here's how you fix it.

IF your unit is having this issue STOP and don't try runnin drain/rinse cylces anymore or you may damage the water pump and have to buy a new one. I think I damaged mine from trying to drain the water so many times with a sock clogged in there... but so far it is working anyway, just with a buzzing noise.

HERES THE FIX

You need to TAKE OFF the FRONT COVER and REMOVE the ITEMS FROM the HOSE leading to the WATER PUMP. The water pump is on the bottom front left and theres only TWO SCREWS to get off the FRONT COVER of the washer/dryer. They are on the bottom by the feet. Have someone tilt the unit backwards and unscrew them with a phillips head and then pull the front cover down and off. There is a rubber snap pin in the top center of the cover but it will come loose as you pull down.

In order to get at the water pump you do NOT need to pull the washer/dryer out, you can get at everything from the front. However it might be a wise decision to unplug the power since water will be draining everywhere.

First siphon out all the water in the tub, whatever you don't siphon will immediately coming rushing out once you remove the hose from the water pump.

I would UNPLUG the electrical connector on that water pump and tie it up out of the way because even if you siphoned the water there will still be water in the hoses and probably under the washer tub some.

Disconnect the hose that comes from the tub to the water pump. That's where I found a small children's sock clogging the pump. Dry off the water pump plug connector pins if they got wet (where you removed the plug from) and reconnect the electric connector.

We tried many times to run the drain cycle before taking the washer/dryer apart so your water pump might be shot as I think mine is. Now mine always makes a buzzing noise as if it's wore out from being worked with a sock blocking it's inner part. You might need to replace your water pump.

Water does not drain

I would remove the front panel (two screws at bottom of front) and check the pump (located in bottom left of machine).
If a sock or other small item gets over the side of the basket it usually ends up inside the pump and stops it up.
If you are fairly savy you can take the pump apart and remove the item.
Good Luck, Quentin

Water wont drain out after use

This washer uses a electric pump. Strings and coins can easily stop the small inpeller. The pump comes apart for cleang. You must remove the front panel by inserting a putty knife in the tp and using downward force the front will come off.
Pull the panel towards you and simplely lift it off the bottom mount. You can now inspect that pump. Lower the drain ose into a bucket to allow as much gravity flowing water to get out before you remove the pump housing. Just unlock the tab and twist apart the pump to get the strings and such out. Have rags ready. LOL

Washing machine fills, agitation fails

Problem solved. The short version; there was a toddler's sock stuck in the water pump. Once removed, the machine works great.
FYI - After I removed the outer casing, to drain the water, I removed the BOTTOM hose from the pump first (TOP hose was unrestricted flow and my spill pan under the washer wouldn't have been able to keep up with the volume). The water trickled out steady and slow, which made me think 'obstruction.' Once the water drained, I pulled off hose #2 and there was the sock. The motor turns both the transmission (agitation/spin cycles) and the pump. The blocked pump was preventing the motor from turning, and the safety mechanism was kicking out so as to prevent the motor from burning up. I checked the motor and transmission while I had it apart, just to verify these other parts could move on their own and had no issues. They were fine. There's something to be said for these older washers ... even a 'no experienced idiot' like me can figure out how it works. Hope this is helpful to someone else out there.

PS - The hardest part was getting the washer casing back into place.

Our Whirlpool washer won't drain

this machine has the pump directly atached to the pump assy, so if the motor is runnning your pump will drain water. more likely is that when you put the unit back together perhaps you didnt plug the lid switch assembly bak in. if there is no lid switch detected the unit will not drain or spin and when it gets to that mode it will simply stall out. no noise or anything. will fill, agitate but not spin and/or drain/ check the lid switch!

E13 error code with my Bosch 500 plus series washer (front loader)

I had an E-13 error code on my Bosch 500 series washer.  The drain pump  impeller was plugged.  Access the drain impeller at the bottom front right corner.  Just put a pen in the hole and turn the cover.  Then you need to manually drain the washer.  I used a shop vac by just turning the cap until it started to leak and vacuum the water as it comes out, this takes quite a while.  When you get it drained you can take the cap completely off.  When I did I found a wipe in the impeller.  I took it out and put it back together and the washer worked just as before.  Good Luck!!

Machine will not drain and spin

you need a new one of these. i took mine COMPLETELY apart and found the impeller jammed. the impeller is a magnet in a sealed plastic carrier with an electro magnet around it. the electro magnet energizes , the two opposing fields spin the inner magnet ( just like a fish tank filter good idea actually!) the inner magnet on mine had a slight crack from factory causing vibration and allowing debris past the seal then jamming the impeller. to check yours drain it with the small drain tube, then get a towel or two and place around the unit at the floor.pull the large black drain cover off and after the gushing tidal wave look inside. you will see the white impeller. try turning it with w screw driver , pen or whatever. you may be able to remove and then clean / reassemble and be good as new. i only needed two tools to tear the machine apart. a Phillips screwdriver and pliers to get the clamps on the pump (2) and the clamp back on the door to drum gasket.
