Hi,

Typical bulb life is app 36 hours though this is affected by battery types, temperature, humidity and a host of other things.
Best if you are using it regularly is to make sure there is always a spare in the base!!

Why does my 2d mag flash light stay dim

Check for corrosion at the bulb, or the spring or the switch. This happens sometimes when batteries leak internally.

I have a 6-7 year old Rayovac Workhorse Lantern- I bought 2 new 6 volt batteries and 2 new tube bulbs for it but it still doesn't work. How and where should I take it to be checked?

The odds that both bulbs went out at the same time is pretty low, actually. It's more likely that there's corrosion in the on-off switch or that an internal wire may have come loose. It's also possible--and I've made this mistake myself--that one of the 6-volt batteries has been put in backwards so that the polarity is not properly aligned for both batteries.

With all that said, here are a few simple tests you can do.

1. Check the batteries. If you have a battery tester, are both batteries good? If so, check they are properly installed and making good contact with their terminals.

2. Pull the bulbs out and use a voltmeter to check that you have voltage going to each bulb tube. This basically means switching the light on and touching each of the terminals where the bulb(s) would clip in. You should see a strong voltage reading on one or both tubes-I believe that this light is designed to keep working, even if one of the bulbs is burned out.

3. If you don't get a reading from the bulb terminals, the on-off switch or wiring leading to is is the prime suspect. You may have to disassemble the light housing to get into that, which may not be particularly easy. At this point, you might want to call Rayovac customer service and see what they might do for you under their alleged lifetime warranty for flashlights. You may be able to send it in (holding onto the bulbs for yourself) and get a free replacement.

Good luck!

Have a Surefire Executive Elite E1e. I purchased it new in 2007 prior to deploying to Afghanistan. After a period of 7 months, the bulb burned out. I ordered a new bulb and replaced the old bulb. It lasted...

If you can access the "guts" of the device. Try and see if there is an electrical malfunction such as frayed wire or moisture on the circuits. It sounds like an electrical short is causing the bulb to work harder that it needs to causing its life to be drastically shortened. If its an investment, I would go ahead and set up service for the device (or if you have the capabilities and know-how to repair it yourself it might be easier). Remember though any attempt to repair an item yourself might void the warranty.

I did a little research and found that all products from the manufacturer are under lifetime warranty as long as they are owned by the original owner. Go ahead and send it in for an easy hastel free repair.

I am not sure if you are in the us again but I have here two different numbers to set up service

Rechargable Stinger new bulb is dim orange

Could possibly be a bad switch, I would also get that battery tested out also. If you still have a receipt it should be covered under warranty. If not try sending it in anyway. Limited lifetime warranty does not include bulb, or batteries but, anything else on that Stinger should have a lifetime warranty. Of course that excludes abuse. Check out the website www.streamlight.com and go to FAQ for a nearest Authorized Service Center or send it directly to Streamlight. Address also listed on the website. Hope that helps ;)

Broke my gerber 3.0 flashlight

Wow what entertainment. Both the poster and the bobint17 don't have a clue how this flashlight works... why answer a question you don't know the answer too? To screw with people? To sound like you know what you're doing?

Anyway, the Gerber TX 3.0 uses a Luxeon 3 LED. There is no bulb. It is not designed as a user replaceable item and unfortunately even someone skilled at soldering and such can't fix the light because the head is permanently attached and not designed to be removed allowing access to the LED assembly. Can the head be removed? Possibly. Will it damage something while trying to remove it with a lot of force? Possibly. Should you try? No. Why? Because the light has a limited lifetime warranty from Gerber. Send it to them and they will fix or replace it!!!

Streamlight stinger not bright

No! the last thing you want to do is get another light, if this light is still in top shape I suggest you send it back to Streamlight for warranty repair. Lifetime warranty on the light alone as far as the battery goes if you're getting an authentic Streamlight Rechargeable battery there shouldn't be a problem. If it's a knock-off battery you're on your own. Check this website out www.streamlight.com send it back to the address in contact or find an Authorized service center in your area. From what you're telling me here I honestly think it's a bad battery, I could be wrong it may be a bad switch. The switch is covered under a lifetime warranty. So take advatange of it while you can! ;) hope that helps.

Stinger xt malfunction

If the charger indicator works i would buy the battery and the bulb and replace them at the same time, as you don't know the exact condition of either. Say you bought the battery and it worked fine for a week or so and the life of the bulb ran out ?. Tricky buys on e-bay.........
