Wi-fi I have the HTC touch pro. If i log into the wi-fi and then log onto the internet.Do i still get charged from my provider? I called my Bell provider and they dont know?

2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Wireless & networks.
4. Touch Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
5. Delete the existing text and enter a name for your hotspot.
6. Scroll down to Password.
7. Delete the existing text and enter a password for your hotspot.
8. Touch Back.
9. Touch Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.
10. Touch OK.
11. The portable Wi-Fi hotspot is now active. Other devices can now connect with the Wildfire.

the g1 isnt wi-fi hands free cabable with any blue tooth, you can just merely use it as a wireles device for speaking.. solution, buy another htc smart phone running windows...like htc touch pro! ...

to be able to acces internet with APN settings you have to be subscriber for a data plan with a network provider... anyways you can acces internet by using wi-fi, from your own home network or any unsecured wi-fi network available.

Actually I had the same problem too, with both my iPod Touch and my wife's. I rebooted both my modem and my router, and that fixed the problem. Routers can get into these strange internal states sometimes, and rebooting them usually fixes the problem.

No, wifi is completely seperate from the cellular network. It will not cost you anything, but will depend on whether or not there are wireless routers/networks near you and if they are secured (with a password) or not. Wi-Fi is basically a home/office internet connection, just wireless.

If you don't have a data plan for your phone, get a data block immediately from Bell. They dont like giving data blocks, and they say some functions wont work but they mean stuff that connects to the internet, which will cost you if you wifi isn't connected since it defaults to the cellular providers internet. It cost be about $12 for less than half a MB of usage. Their rate per MB is more than $50, im not kidding.. just checked my bill. If you just got the phone you can get the charges reversed just say you didn't know it would connect to the cellular web and that it cost so much etc etc. They should be lenient if you just got the phone etc...
