Hi, hate to be the bringer of bad news but, it seems to be a dead lens you are experiencing. The no disk error basically means that the lens sensor isn't active and it responds as if the disk was not inserted even if it is. replacing the lens will fix this issue.

Cd does not work. Will not show movie. Please replace

There is a difference between a CD "music usually or data" and "DVD". Some players/computers only play CD's. Some are DVD/CD players/writers. Which is yours. If you have a CD player, it will never play a movie. Put in #1.a CD and try. If it works good. Then put in #2. a DVD it might not be a DVD player. Past that it would be a defective player. Get a lense cleaner disk at y computer/variety store". Insert it in your computer and run the program.lay a movie. If it is scratched or dirty. Clean and try again. No luck, You have a bad player of software issue. The Disk player can be slid out and replaced at any computer store. $59? Good Luck. John

I have a dual xds 110 car radio that will not play cds radio works but when i insert a cd it says error my cds are brand new and unmolested i have tried resetting the radio but the problem still occurs...

are you hearing the disc spin when it is inserted. sometime the disc is just not sitting right to be read or failing these there has something happened the the laser and not reading the disc, most time it is the disc in not getting to sit to be read. you will need to open the player up and check to see if it is working properly. i use a battery charger and plug the power leads into it just to see what is going on. if you cannot do this take the radio cage out and unplug the plug off the cage and plug that part into the radio so you can see what is going on... this is a must never look at the laser as this will damage your eye/s look at an angle look for a red beam of light that will be the laser reading the disk if no red light and the disc is sitting in the right place then the laser has gone. you can sometimes get a replacement but that is upto you as the can cost a bit unless you do a search for faulty type with audio flats etc but not reading disks. then just swap over the laser unit.

MY MOSER BAER DH-20A4P IS NOT READING ANY DISK

Sounds like a build up of dust on the lens.

2 options -

Either buy a DVD lens cleaner

Note DVD LENS cleaner, NOT DVD Cleaner the latter is for the discs, not the player

or second option is to remove lid from your player (usually 5 or 6 screws) and gently swab the lens with a cotton bud or similar soft lint free product. Try not to push too hard on the lens or you may damage the mechanism.

The lens is really obvious as it faces upwards and looks like a small round clear glass bead.

CD/DVD Rom suddenly not reading DVDs. I had iTunes installed and had deleted these files. Any connection and how do I fix my DVD player BA

DVDs demand a much higher precision to read a disk than do CDs and when they go down the tubes, the DVD is the first place it will show up. You can try using a cleaning disk but this is often not successful.

in the world the cd dvd creaters are using a new format of cd dvd making old players obsolite due to piracy these new cd dvds are becoming a pain a way they make you go out and purchase new players with updated formats

i found this out a few months ago when i bought a dvd from store it wouldnt work in a 7 month old dvd player so i got to thinking about it put in older cd that worked did a little investigating i want to know why new cd dvds werent working low and behold i found a tech site for the cd dvd compile build formats there it was piracy is getting knocked out by new cd dvd format this is so you cant copy direct to or from disks
if you can try to find older disks cause the new disks could be whole problem

With all those problems, especially #2 and #3, you won't be able to fix it. You can only replace it with a different one. Sorry your DVD player is Dead.

Wont recognize burned disks

This does sound like a defective drive, most likely a laser / reader issue, because the refractive properties of the CDR is different from a "pressed" disk it looks like thia failed TOC seek issue, the head starts at the center of the disk and reads outwards, the click noise is most likeley the head reaching the terminus (the outer limit of the motorised movement), the drive then unable to find the TOC gives up and decides the disk is unreadable. if this drive is within the manufacturer's Warrantee period I would reccommend sending it back.
