Question about GE Dryers

GE Dryer smells like its burning

I just purchased a GE Dryer about 1 year ago. When I dry my clothes the dryer gives off a burning smell. It smells like its coming from the inside of the dryer and not any electrical wiring from behind the dryer. Do you have any idea what the problem may be.

We purchased this product a month ago and it seems to be giving off a burning type of smell which we can smell both outside the vent and in the dryer itself. it seems to work fine

If it smells like an oily burn then it is just the oil burning off of the new parts in dryer, this is common. If it smells like electrical burning then call the manufacturer for repair. Could be a wire burning and if it is new it is covered under warranty.

Dryer heating but not drying the clothes

be 100% sure there is a good air flow outside the house where the dryer vents out this is the most comon problem. Next check in side the dryer drum at the back give a slight tug on the drum toward the front of the dryer you are looking to mack sure there is not a gap between the bulkhead and drum felt. If there is a good seal there then I would repace the Theremostat on the blower housing this is the cycle theremostat
